Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is excited to announce we are looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team in the Dermatology Department.

About the job

The dermatology technician is responsible for the general nursing care and treatment of animal patients. The dermatology technician will perform duties for and take direction from the dermatology doctors. 

What you will bring:

• Credentialed veterinary technician with 2 years veterinary experience preferred
• Open to consider veterinary assistants with at least 1 year veterinary experience and/or in schooling/internship program
• Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and their owners
• Positive outlook, ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!

How you'll make a difference:

• Assisting with appointments
• Assisting with admitting and discharging patients
• Preparing and assisting with various dermatological procedures
• Sedation and anesthesia
• Cleaning and sterilization of instruments, scoping equipment, and organization or department instrument packs
• Taking inventory, placing inventory orders, and stocking the dermatology department
• Client communication, such as scheduling appointments and patient check ins

Schedule: Monday through Friday, four 10-hour shifts

Salary: $24.00 - $29.00 / hour based on experience
