About the job: The primary role of the Veterinary Technician is to provide excellent care to the patients of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care hospital of Las Vegas as well as assist the veterinarian with all duties and lead the department.
How you'll make a difference
- Work as a Technician in various departments, providing optimum clinical care for our patients
- Function as a part of the Supervisor team, contributing to problem-solving, workflow optimization, and communication refinement
- Oversee and approve timecards, ensuring compliance with hospital policies
- Serve as role model, mentor, and coach for Technicians and Assistants anywhere in the hospital
- Scheduling of support staff
- Assessing hospital wide needs at beginning of shift, working with other leadership to ensure patient care is met with appropriate staff talent re-appropriation when scheduled plan changes due to call outs or other unknown day of challenges
- Conflict Resolution - In the moment with doctors, support staff, or clients (trends, ongoing or issues that cannot be resolved escalate to manager)
- Training of new hires and existing advancement (delegation not responsible for one on one training)
- Employee Performance Management - Report issues to Manager, give weekly feedback on any overarching challenges, participate with employee performance reviews
- Experience working as licensed veterinary technician anesthetist. ASA Levels 1-3 preferred
- Proficient in handling sedated animals
- Train new staff members and provide them with the tools needed to be successful
- Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocols
- Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks / projects
- Work in unison with the other supervisors and management
What you'll bring
- Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician
- Experience working within ER hospital setting preferred
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community we serve

- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Schedule: We are hiring for a daytime and swing shift supervisor. three 12-hour or four 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
Salary: $30.00 - $43.00/hr (this range includes differentials)
