Senior Accountant

Join a fast-paced, growing provider of veterinary emergency and multi-specialty healthcare services. Veritas has 14 locations nationwide, serving over 100,000 pets annually. We are physician-owned and backed by Percheron Capital, a leading private equity firm focused on essential services businesses. Our management team includes DVMs and leaders from publicly traded companies like DaVita Healthcare, as well as top private equity and consulting firms such as Blackstone and Bain. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in building a high-performing accounting function. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and help scale systems and processes as we continue to grow. What You'll Do

  • Own critical components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet integrity
  • Perform and review complex balance sheet reconciliations, with a strong focus on cash, AR, and accruals
  • Analyze P&L trends and ensure timely, accurate expense recognition
  • Investigate and resolve GL discrepancies and reconciling items
  • Manage inventory accounting and related controls
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting schedules
  • Support external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and direct interaction with auditors
  • Partner with operations, AP, and FP&A to improve data accuracy and close efficiency
  • Help design, document, and implement scalable accounting policies and internal controls
  • Actively support systems optimization and automation, including Sage Intacct, BlackLine, Ramp, Stampli, etc.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA is a plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or PE-backed operating company is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets)
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a proactive, ownership mindset
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and solving complex problems
  • Experience with modern ERP systems (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar) and a tech-forward approach

Schedule

  • Work Arrangement: Dallas Fort-Worth area, Hybrid / Remote
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, normal business hours

Pay

  • Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Bonus: Performance-based annual bonus opportunity

Base Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 USD
