Veterinary Assistant – Emergency / Internal Medicine / Surgery / Radiology
We are also hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital as a Float Assistant, supporting Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Radiology teams.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in different clinical settings throughout the day. You will assist with patient restraint and handling, triage support, exam room assistance, patient preparation for procedures, basic nursing care, and general support of technicians and doctors across multiple departments.
Strong candidates will be adaptable, organized, and able to shift priorities quickly while maintaining patient safety and efficiency. Experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred, especially in emergency or specialty settings, but we value strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn advanced skills in a collaborative environment.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build broad clinical experience across multiple specialties and grow within a high-performing veterinary team.
Skills & Qualifications – Veterinary Assistant (Float: ER / IM / Surgery / Radiology)
Required / Preferred
- Veterinary hospital experience preferred (ER or specialty experience a plus)
- Ability to work across multiple departments and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Experience handling patients in stressful or high-acuity situations is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of clinical workflow in a veterinary hospital
- Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed
Key Skills
- Strong patient restraint and handling skills across various temperaments
- Ability to assist in emergency triage support and patient preparation
- Comfortable rotating between departments (ER, IM, Surgery, Radiology)
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization under pressure

Salary & Schedule
- Salary
- $20.00 - $23.00/hr, based on experience
- Schedule
- four 10-hour shifts
- 1 weekend day required
- Day shift. Possibility of swings
