We are looking for another rockstar to join our fast growing legal team who has a combination of legal support skills and experience covering legal operations and contracts management. This is an exciting opportunity to help us uplevel our legal operations function and also be the first in-house contracts manager in our fast-moving sales and procurement environment. This role will support our current systems, processes, and dealmaking flows, as well as help build new workflows and structures to contribute to our continued growth and efficiency. We are an “in the office” company and this role is based in our headquarters in San Mateo, CA.
What You’ll Be Expected To Do
- Legal Billing Management:
- Support Legal eBilling processes, including budget forecasting, spend management, vendor relationships, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with billing guidelines and collaborate with finance teams to resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for law firm engagement letters.
- Contracts Management:
- Assist in managing our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool as part of our overall contract lifecycle management program.
- Organize and manage Verkada’s contract records.
- Support the legacy contract migration process into our CLM, ensuring accurate search and reporting.
- Provide frontline support for cross-functional business teams-including sales, marketing, product, sourcing, and finance on a contract-related processes.
- Be the team’s first in-house contract manager responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of inbound and outbound contracts (from NDAs to vendor agreements to customer agreements).
- General Legal Operations Support:
- Organize and maintain legal files and documentation in Google Drive.
- Handle ad-hoc legal questions and requests from various departments.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed.
- Provide support for eDiscovery processes and system management.
- Contribute to the development of enablement resources for legal and business teams.
What You’ll Need
- 2-6+ years experience as an in-house legal operations specialist, paralegal and/or contracts manager with a proficiency in:
- negotiating a variety of inbound and outbound contracts (from NDAs to vendor agreements to customer agreements)
- managing and supporting a CLM platform (preferably Ironclad)
- managing and supporting a legal billing platform (preferably Brightflag)
- handling various eDiscovery processes (such as legal holds, document collections, and reviews, preferably in Logikcull), and contract review
- Bachelor's degree from a four year university
- Superior organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity withGoogle Drive, Slack, Docusign, Asana, and MS 365
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced start-up environment

Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Estimated Annual Pay Range
$90,000 - $175,000 USD
