Engineering Manager, Growth

Our Growth Engineering team prides itself on using a first principles approach to unlock new ways of scaling revenue. Using engineering to overcome obstacles and scale/automate with intelligence, we experiment where most marketing teams fall short. Through “hack-iness,” business intuition, and advanced problem solving, you will be critical in driving an efficient and scalable growth motion. The features your team builds will be highly visible to both internal and external stakeholders and will directly impact the growth of the company by providing a state-of-the-art platform and measurement capabilities to enable our product and marketing teams to effectively deliver highly personalized and relevant marketing campaigns to the right people at the right timing with right content at scale.
This position will be based in-person at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team by driving recruitment efforts, providing mentorship, and demonstrating strong leadership.
- Strategically plan, prioritize, and oversee project execution to ensure successful delivery of key initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to optimize workflows and maximize the capabilities of the MarTech platform.
- Serve as an engineering architect, guiding technical direction, making critical architectural decisions, and developing technical roadmaps to align with business goals.
- Engage in hands-on coding and prototyping to validate concepts, expedite execution, and deepen your understanding of the codebase as you expand the team into a fully-fledged organization.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
- 5+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
- Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
- Adept at collaborating cross-functionally, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
- Passionate about technology, staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
- (Preferred) Startup experience
Pay Disclosure

With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$130,000 - $275,000 USD
