About the Role

As the Director of Technical Content and Delivery, you’ll report directly to the VP of Solutions Engineering and play a pivotal role in designing and building Verkada’s global technical certification, training, and enablement program.

You’ll lead a team of technical content creators and trainers, architect multiple certification tracks, and develop deep technical content — including hands-on labs, in-person trainings, short-form learning modules, and authored resources that set the industry standard.

This is a deeply hands-on, technical, and execution-heavy role. You should love to build. You’ll roll up your sleeves to write content, design labs, test exams, and run pilots, all while laying the foundation for a program that will scale globally and touch tens of thousands of learners in the years to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and launch Verkada’s global technical certification and training program, with tiered certifications, hands-on labs, and real-world assessments.
  • Build and scale a team of highly technical content creators and trainers, driving content quality, technical depth, and learner engagement.
  • Partner deeply with Solutions Engineers (SEs), SE leaders, and partner technical teams to ensure programs directly support field readiness, sales success, and product adoption.
  • Champion in-person, lab-based, and hardware-integrated training experiences — delivering high-impact sessions across our San Mateo HQ and the field.
    • Create a wide range of enablement assets, including:
    • Multi-track certification exams
    • Hands-on labs and simulations
    • Short-form on-demand trainings
    • Learning books, whitepapers, technical guides
    • In-person instructor-led and virtual training content
    • Spend time in the field (~25–30% travel) supporting training events, gathering feedback, and evolving the experience based on real-world usage.
    • Work cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Product, Channel, and Enablement teams to ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with product updates.
  • Define and track success metrics around adoption, field performance, knowledge retention, and global certification reach.
  • Scale the program and your team rapidly as adoption and demand grow — with a long-term goal of becoming the industry benchmark for technical certification in the physical security and smart building space.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years in technical training, certification, or enablement leadership roles in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments.
  • Strong background in networking, IoT, physical security, or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Proven success building and scaling technical certification programs that serve internal teams, partners, and customers.
  • Deeply hands-on — comfortable creating labs, writing content, building assessments, and reviewing technical documentation.
  • Experience leading teams of content developers, instructors, or technical educators, with a track record of scaling globally.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaborator who thrives on working with SEs, product managers, engineers, and GTM teams.
  • Passion for in-person learning, hardware-driven labs, and building programs that people genuinely enjoy participating in.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to deliver big results with speed and clarity.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
