About The Role

As Verkada's Social Media Lead, you will own and evolve our social media presence to cement Verkada’s position as a category leader in physical security. You'll be responsible for building vibrant communities, driving industry conversations, and transforming how we show up across Verkada’s owned channels, from LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Instagram to emerging platforms. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution: you'll craft compelling narratives and visuals that connect Verkada's innovation to the cultural and industry moments that matter and also foster authentic engagement with customers, partners, and talent.

You're a creative strategist who understands how to balance brand building with performance, someone who can translate complex technology into scroll-stopping content, and a community builder who thrives on sparking meaningful conversations. You'll work closely with product marketing, creative, and executive teams to ensure Verkada's voice is consistent and cuts through in a crowded landscape.

About The Team

This role sits within Verkada's Communications & Public Affairs team, a group dedicated to shaping how the world understands and experiences our cloud-based physical security platform. We're storytellers, strategists, and relationship builders who work across media relations, content creation, executive communications, and industry thought leadership. You'll collaborate with a team that moves fast, thinks creatively, and is deeply invested in positioning Verkada at the forefront of the AI-powered security transformation.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive organic social media strategy that builds brand awareness, drives engagement, and positions Verkada as a category leader in physical security and AI innovation.
  • Create and manage a content calendar across key social platforms, including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and Reddit, that balances evergreen brand storytelling with timely, culturally relevant moments, industry news, product launches, and trending conversations that drive earned attention.
  • Craft content that distills complex security technology into compelling, accessible messages that resonate with customers, partners, and talent.
  • Build and nurture online communities by actively engaging with followers and identifying opportunities for authentic brand participation.
  • Leverage social listening and analytics tools to monitor brand sentiment, identify trending topics, track competitive activity, and uncover insights that inform content strategy and optimization.
  • Support executive social presence by developing content for leadership to share across their networks.
  • Measure and report on social media performance, connecting metrics to business outcomes and continuously optimizing strategy based on data-driven insights.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and experiment with new formats, features, and emerging platforms to keep Verkada's social presence fresh and effective.
  • Champion AI fluency and leverage AI tools for ideation, content creation, and efficiency while maintaining brand quality and authenticity.

What We're Looking For

  • 6–10 years of experience managing social media for a B2B or technology brand, ideally in enterprise software, SaaS, security, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling organic social programs that drive measurable growth in brand awareness, engagement, and community building.
  • Deep expertise across major social platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Reddit) with demonstrated ability to tailor content strategy for different audiences and platform dynamics.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills with the ability to transform technical concepts into engaging, human-centered content that sparks conversation and builds connection.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution. You're equally comfortable developing high-level content frameworks and jumping in to create posts, respond to comments, and engage in real-time.
  • Experience leveraging cultural moments and industry trends to create timely, relevant content that positions a brand within broader conversations.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in social media analytics tools and the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborative team player who excels at cross-functional partnership and can build strong relationships across communications, marketing, product, and leadership teams.
  • Excellent judgment and cultural savviness, with the ability to navigate sensitive topics, manage brand reputation, and make smart decisions about when and how to engage.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with social listening, content management, and analytics platforms (Sprout Social preferred).
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content creation and workflow optimization.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
