Product Marketing Manager, Privacy and Video Security

San Mateo, CA United States

Who We Are

Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.

We’ve got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.

You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. The school that’s alerted to a threat in real-time and triggers a lockdown in seconds, not minutes. We’re rapidly scaling this impact: today, more than 2 million Verkada devices are deployed across 170+ countries.

About the Role

As the Product Marketing Manager for Privacy and Video Security, you will play a dual role sitting at the intersection of Verkada’s core corporate mission and our flagship product.

First, you will be responsible for defining and driving the narrative around Verkada’s approach to privacy and data security. These elements are never afterthoughts at Verkada; they are foundational to how we design our technology and a core differentiator that enables us to earn the trust of – and successfully sell to – some of the world’s largest organizations. In this role, you will lead the charge in proactively establishing Verkada as the undisputed leader in how a cloud-first physical security company should approach privacy and data security. You will go incredibly deep into the weeds of our technical architecture, becoming a subject matter expert who can be strategically deployed to create customer-facing collateral, go toe-to-toe with technical experts and executive buyers, and evangelize our privacy and security posture across the entire go-to-market engine.

Second, you will play a critical role in driving the growth of Verkada’s largest product line, Video Security. Working alongside our existing Video Security PMM team, you will co-own the go-to-market strategy and oversee high-profile product launches. Beyond leading launches, you will be integral in translating hardware and software features into the collateral needed to enable our Sales, Demand Generation, and Channel Marketing teams to win.

Both halves of this role are deeply cross-functional and require you to bring together stakeholders across the Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Communications teams. You will also partner closely with Verkada’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Privacy Officer.

We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This position will be based in-person at our HQ in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Do

  • Hone Verkada’s privacy and security narrative: Clearly articulate how Verkada differentiates itself, our fundamental approach to data protection, and how these practices deliver value to our customers. Refine and adapt our messaging and positioning strategies in response to product developments, competitor movements, and public sentiment.
  • Drive proactive privacy thought leadership and asset creation: Author, advise on, and elevate high-impact collateral – including technical whitepapers, one-pagers, blogs, videos, and sales decks – to position Verkada as the definitive authority in the space. Take complete ownership of the Verkada Trust Hub webpage, significantly expanding its depth to turn it into a comprehensive, best-in-class destination for public transparency.
  • Execute Video Security product launches: Bring new Video Security products and features to market by developing competitively differentiated messaging and positioning, setting a go-to-market plan, and planning and creating deliverables in order to maximize impact.
  • Serve as a cross-functional subject matter expert: Act as a definitive expert on both Video Security and data privacy across our product portfolio. Unite Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to drive commercial results, lead Executive Briefing Center (EBC) sessions, and directly empower our field organization to navigate complex technical privacy evaluations.
  • Enable the go-to-market engine: Partner closely with Sales, Demand Generation, Creative, and Channel Marketing teams to accelerate pipeline growth. Translate complex hardware capabilities and technical privacy frameworks into high-impact outbound marketing assets and field collateral that directly improve win rates.

What You Bring

  • 2-4+ years of product marketing or related experience in B2B SaaS or IoT
  • Exceptional writing skills with meticulous attention to detail and ability to write content for a variety of audiences, including highly technical content
  • Extreme curiosity and desire to dive deep into the weeds of all things privacy and enterprise data security. Even if you do not have a technical background, you are excited to spend hours learning the intricacies of Verkada’s architecture so you can feel confident speaking with highly technical buyers
  • Self-directed and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams including Product, Communications, Sales, Demand Generation, and Creative
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
