Position Overview

The software applications, platforms and tools are critical for the growth and continuous value delivery in the Verra Mobility CS business. The Software Development Manager will be responsible for managing a team of software developers and testers responsible for creating software applications/solutions such as web applications and web services, mobile apps, public and private APIs, domain logic and rules, data integration & transforms and databases while managing the maintenance of each. The Software development manager will be responsible for the entire software solutions/application lifecycle: concept, design, development, deployment, and maintenance in collaboration with Solution Architects.

What you'll do

  • Manage the team responsible for designing, developing, testing installing and maintaining software solutions for Title and Registrations business
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Develop software solutions by studying requirements, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, Serve as technical leader for one or more software solutions
  • Follows the standard software development lifecycle
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Ensure systems integration with all APIs presently used and in future opportunities
  • Evolve the technical architecture to utilize the latest/progressive cloud, SaaS, mobile, analytics/AI technologies and tools in support of a diverse and evolving product suite.
  • Ensure projects are executed and delivered in time within budget and desired quality by applying effective contingency plans and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure that the Title and Registrations business runs as usual with effective and proactive monitoring notifications and processes to address all production incidents within SLA and keep systems available 99.9%. Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Responsible for partnering with the product team to create and implement technology and product roadmaps
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
  • Recruiting and training of software developers and partnership with vendors to scale engineering efforts while adding to our culture with Verra Mobility Core Values
  • As a part of engineering and technology teams, we will be vigilant to support the positive compliant cybersecurity company posture by familiarizing ourselves with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and act accordingly. This position is expected to exert the utmost care, due diligence, and ensure the proper compliance for all computer, server, and cloud systems. This position is trusted to ensure proper protections for all sensitive information created, stored, transmitted, and otherwise processed by supporting barriers deterring unauthorized access, recognizing, and reporting problems that are uncharacteristic of business activity and known and as-yet unrecognized vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Computer science, Computer engineering Information Tech/Systems, etc.)
  • At least 8 years of SW development and QA experience in Data Processing systems and applications, Title & Registration solutions or Automotive Fleet/Rent-A-Car services/solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership/manager position
  • Experience developing and testing web applications using technologies such as .Net, C#, SQL, REST, Microservices, GraphQL, , Git, MS Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, OpenShift, JMS, Selenium
  • Experience in implementing integrations with government and 3rd party systems like DMV, Emissions, Insurance.
  • Proficiency in building and supporting .NET applications and API's,
  • Proficiency in Database Architecture, Data Processing, BI and Analytics
  • Experience in working with, SQL Server, NetSuite, Tableau technologies
  • Experience developing SPA and Mobile APPs using , React, Node, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, Micro-frontends, React Native, Kotlin, Swift
  • Experience working with code quality and security/static analysis tools like SonarQue
  • Experience working with IDP technologies like UiPath, Azure DI
  • Experience migrating on-premises applications to cloud and modernizing legacy applications using new technologies, designs and architectures
  • Working experience with Agile methodologies and Stage Gate process
  • Experience and knowledge of Software engineering, Comp Science/IT concepts, Modern software architectures and development principles
  • High energy, self-motivated, and hands-on management style
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills
