Position Overview:
As the Director, Program Management, you will play a key role in providing world class support to our customers and clients by managing business and technology programs / projects and ensuring they are delivered in a timely manner. No challenge will be too big, and no issue will go unsolved! You are responsible for tracking the status of all programs / projects within the assigned business by working with different stakeholders, manage expectations of customers, provide status reports to Senior Leadership, document all issues and risks, and drive them to closure. You will create and manage project plans, communicate schedules with different stakeholders and ensure successful delivery of all projects and tickets. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with a team that is globally distributed. This role will have also work as a Chief of Staff and report to our Verra Mobility’s CTO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Alignment: Align project objectives with overall business strategy, help identify key initiatives and prioritize projects.
- PMO Leadership: Manage and develop a team of project managers, provide coaching, feedback and support to ensure project execution and completion.
- Process Governance: Establish and maintain standardized project management methodologies, including project initiation, planning, and execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against key metrics (time, budget, scope), identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare regular reports for senior management on project status, key performance indicators, and critical decision points.
- Resource Management: Optimize resource allocation across projects, ensuring efficient utilization of team members.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, managing expectations and addressing concerns effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance PMO processes, tools, and methodologies to improve overall project delivery.
- Change Management: Facilitate change management initiatives within the organization related to project management practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience in a highly collaborative IT environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in managing projects and schedules using Microsoft Project Plan
- Must be proficient in estimating and sizing development efforts
- Experienced with Office products like Excel, PowerPoint to generate reports and dashboards
- Experience in IT release planning and coordination of release activities
- Experienced with tools like Visual Studio Team Services, Jira
- Strong problem-resolution and analytical skills
- Flexible and adaptable regarding learning, task assignments, and learning new technologies
- Some experience with software development, preferably with SQL server and Microsoft .Net technologies
- Agile Scrum Software Development practices and tools preferred
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure Visual Studio Team Services, preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree Required, Masters preferred in Business or similar field
