Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Talent to lead our Learning & Development, Talent Management, Organizational Design and Development and Talent Acquisition team. This role will oversees the development and implementation of learning and development programs and interventions, drives workforce planning, and supports the organization to ensure they have a build, buy, borrow, bridge talent strategy that enables Verra Mobility to achieve its strategic ambition. This role will report directly into the Chief People Officer and will work closely with the VP of Total Rewards and the Director of People Experience to enable system level thinking across the disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learning & Development (L&D): Oversee the design, development, and delivery of L&D programs to enhance employee skills and performance in line with business priorities. Implement leadership development to create a pipeline of talent to strengthen internal succession. Partner with department leaders to create critical role-specific individual training plans and growth opportunities. Leverage learning technologies and platforms to scale development initiatives. Monitor and measure L&D program effectiveness through KPIs and employee feedback and ultimately to show a company level ROI on development that impacts the Company’s bottom line.
- Talent Management: Run the Company’s cyclical talent management process, including 4-box/9-box, goal setting and performance reviews to identify key talent and succession planning. In conjunction with the VP of Total Reward, support the company pivot to pay for performance and with the Director of People experience to understand the engagement of talent across the company. Run the Company’s VmOS Talent Management process with the goal of achieving the highest talent in the most critical roles. Identify and manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery and implementation of services that meet business needs Serve as a talent management Subject Matter Expert (SME) and proactively stay current with industry trends to identify new and different ways of developing and accelerating talent.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning: Develop and execute a scalable, data-driven recruitment strategy to attract and retain top talent. Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, selection, and onboarding. Lead workforce planning efforts with business leaders to forecast future talent needs. Drive diversity hiring initiatives and promote inclusive recruitment practices. Manage relationships with external recruitment partners to optimize effectiveness and cost. Strengthen the company’s employer brand to attract and retain high-caliber talent. Ensure a best-in-class candidate experience, promoting transparency and engagement throughout the hiring process. Partner with marketing to develop authentic storytelling campaigns highlighting company culture.
- Organization Design and Development: As the Company continues to growth through acquisition, work with the CPO to support the ELT with Company level design, integration and structure and role clarity across the Organization. Understand the overall priority organizational development requirements and develop plans to fulfill those needs. Lead efforts to build strong bench of leadership talent and overseeing the administration and evaluation of both assessments and related development activities for executives.
- Strategic Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on talent strategy and workforce planning. Leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making on talent initiatives. Collaborate with HR, finance, and business leaders to align talent strategies with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required, MBA or Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 12 years leading talent development, performance management, executive development & succession planning function within large enterprise level organization required
- Previous experience in designing and implementing talent management initiatives.
- Comprehensive & expansive knowledge of talent management processes, tools and technology
- Ability to collect, assimilate, and analyze data and present concise results
- Systems rather than linear thinker.
- Strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation to executive leadership
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once, and lead cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing business environment with flexibility & adaptability
