Position Overview

The Director of Operations is responsible for the implementation of Verra Mobility’s strategic vision of senior executives while making financially sound business decisions. This role will ensure not only that day-to-day operations are running smoothly, but also strategically transforming the operations for the future. A commitment to managing and motivating people while seeking enhanced process controls, continuous improvement and metrics-based management is important to the success of the position. The Director reports directly to the Business Unit Operations Executive will have management-level direct reports.

What You’ll Do

  • Directly drive performance results across the business. This could encompass up to 75 employees and contractors with six operational leaders directly reporting to this role.
  • Responsible for determining and executing a vision and strategy that includes end-to-end customer issues resolution, transaction processing and product fulfilment.
  • Create and maintain operations metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), such as balancing service delivery, turn time, transactional costs and employee engagement.
  • Partner with business development and account management teams to provide excellent operational services to all Verra Mobility clients.
    • Maintain high levels of associate engagement and experience
    • Develop and maintain an exceptional leadership team, build short and long-term organization development plans to meet current and planned business goals
    • Optimize capacity of the organization in terms of staffing, budgeting, facilities, equipment, and technology
  • Identify, implement, and manage continuous improvement through the application of Six Sigma, Lean, or other similar methodologies with the objective of increasing organizational effectiveness, lowering costs, and creating consistent service delivery to customers
  • Manage budget and transaction costs to plan or better levels while remaining scalable for growth
  • Available for travel (up to 50%)

What We’re Looking For

  • Undergraduate business degree, master’s degree or MBA is preferred
  • 10 years of operations management experience including leading people, budgets and departments in highly manual, operator intensive environments
  • 5 years of experience operations management experience as a BPO service specifically managing cycle times, value stream and continuous flow
  • Ability to collaborate with, encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation across groups and with vendors
  • Strong working knowledge of the fleet industry and the management of vehicles
  • Proven ability to manage, execute and deliver complex and concurrent projects of significant scope
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills/style to gain acceptance of ideas and plans, particularly as it relates to implementation of company-wide processes and guidelines supporting efficiency-focused objectives
  • Solid understanding of financial principles including transaction costs in a production environment
  • Exemplary communications skills including preparation and delivery of presentations to all levels of internal and external audiences
  • A deep understanding of metrics/dashboards that drive an environment of accountability and culture of continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of, previous experience and success in acquisitions and integration of new processes/technologies that provide innovative, value-added solutions/services
  • Experience leading multiple operational teams with varied levels of supervisory and geographic responsibility.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service. Effectiveness working collaboratively across functional teams with varying objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean principles of standard work, daily management and value stream improvement efforts
  • Ability to cope with changing and competing priorities effectively and to focus on the most important initiatives.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills including collaborative management style.
