Position Overview:
Verra Mobility’s Commercial Services business unit is seeking a proven and exceptional leader to serve as the Vice President, Product Management for our business. The position will be a key member of the Commercial Services senior leadership team. With responsibility for leading our product and program management teams responsible for a $400m business within Verra Mobility. This person will develop strategic objectives and key performance goals as well as ensure that all leaders and teams are high performing. This person will have P&L accountability for product strategy, market success, and customer adoption, working in close partnership with Business Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and other matrixed leaders.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the Commercial Services product portfolio with P&L accountability for product strategy, market success, and customer adoption, working in close partnership with Business Operations, Engineering, and other matrixed leaders.
- Set the vision and strategy for the portfolio, ensuring a customer-first, data-driven, and AI-enabled approach to drive growth, profitability, and market differentiation.
- Champion innovation by working with engineering and operations teams to integrate AI, automation, and modern cloud-based platforms that enhance product capabilities, streamline workflows, and deliver superior customer experiences.
- Own the product management function end-to-end — from market sensing and competitive intelligence to roadmap development, business case creation, pricing strategy, and launch execution.
- Collaborate with program management to ensure initiatives are appropriately resourced, delivered on-time/on-budget, and continuously optimized, with transparent stakeholder communications.
- Drive commercial strategy in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Operations to maximize ROI, customer adoption, and long-term retention.
- Implement portfolio planning discipline, including:
- Voice of Customer (VoC) programs
- Market opportunity assessments
- Make/buy/partner decisions
- Stage-gate governance and agile execution
- Continuous lifecycle management with a focus on product-market fit and scalability
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly P&L reviews, forecast accuracy, and performance tracking.
- Foster a high-performance culture — attracting, developing, and retaining top product talent, while ensuring inclusiveness, collaboration, and high engagement across all locations.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or similar field of study
- MBA or advanced degree (preferred)
- Experience:
- 15+ years in executive-level product leadership with P&L influence in a matrixed, multi-product, multi-market environment.
- Proven track record in AI-driven product strategy, automation, and modernization of legacy systems.
- Expertise in leading cross-functional initiatives in partnership with operations, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
- Background in automotive, mobility, connected vehicle, transportation tech, or adjacent B2B2C technology sectors.
- Strong skills in market analysis, competitive positioning, and customer segmentation.
- Commercial mindset with expertise in business case development, pricing, monetization strategies, and margin optimization.
- Proficiency in Agile product management, with Lean Six Sigma or similar process excellence certifications preferred.
- Leadership & Vision: Collaborative, inspirational leader with a commitment to ethical, customer-focused decision-making and a track record of driving transformation in matrixed organizations.
- Career Aspirations: Ready for C-suite or GM-level scope in the near term.
- Travel: Up to 50%, mostly U.S.-based
