Position Overview

As the Product Owner for the Connected Vehicle Solutions business within the Commercial Services portfolio, you will play a pivotal role in translating business needs into actionable technical requirements. As a key member of the product management team, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring the product vision is effectively transformed into deliverable outcomes. You will oversee a suite of applications and guide a dedicated software scrum team, evaluating and prioritizing features to maximize performance and deliver value to clients and end users. Your responsibilities will include leading meetings to identify product issues, shaping product roadmaps, and managing daily goals to ensure high performance and timely delivery. You will own and maintain the product backlog, aligning it with strategic initiatives and collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to ensure seamless execution. Clear and consistent communication of system updates to stakeholders will be essential to your success in this role.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as the interpreter between business and technology groups regarding requirements and system capabilities
  • Understand and translate the product vision into standard SDLC requirement documentation (via PRDs, process flows, epics, features, stories) to ensure development team’s understanding of the problem statement and business need
  • Build and maintain a backlog of stories/features to support the product roadmap and work closely with product to ensure synchronization with business initiatives
  • Manage and communicate system application updates to stakeholders
  • Document application functionality & perform validation checks to ensure business requirement/design specifications alignments
  • Play a leading role for the team in fulfilling Agile software development efforts including:
    • Lead requirements gathering effort on the epics, as needed — consulting with product management, implementations, clients, and other stakeholders
    • Document story details based on the epics in coordination with development
    • Actively participate or lead scrum meetings including standups, retrospectives, and demos
    • Own backlog grooming to decompose and estimate stories and project level of effort
    • Collaborate with UX to create mockups and support design efforts Document application functionality and validate alignment with business requirements.
    • Write clear user acceptance criteria and support UAT/integration testing.
    • Demonstrate product iterations to stakeholders and gather feedback.
  • Communicate system updates and release notes to internal and external stakeholders.Promote cross-team collaboration in the development of software, tools and processes to drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational excellence
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the optimal design and delivery of solutions
  • Active involvement in all stages of the product life cycle to ensure that the solution fulfils business requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the following:
    • Participating in large-scale strategic and multi-faceted projects with a proven ability to meet delivery deadlines and deliver required functionality
    • Agile methodology and Business System Analysis
    • Creating business use cases and business process diagrams and flows
    • Gathering and documenting business/technical requirements and functional/non-functional specifications
    • Development of User Stories and managing backlog
    • Requirements analysis including documenting as-is and designing to-be business processes
  • Strong ability to build credibility, organize effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Demonstrated agility and ability to navigate complex environment
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Aha! tools (preferred)
  • Background in Intelligent Transportation Sector, Automotive or Tolling Industries (preferred)
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions, SaaS applications, CRM systems, mobile application development, APIs (a plus)
