Staff Accountant
About This Team and Role
Verra Mobility is hiring a Staff Accountant. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assist with the month-end close process in Corporate Accounting.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close process
- Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations and analyses timely and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Perform work under the supervision of the Senior Accountants and work with the team to ensure key accounting control activities are completed timely and in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards
- Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi-tasking
- Complete vendor setups in the system and participate in special projects/ ad hoc requests as needed
- Provide support to internal and external auditors in connection with the year-end audit and quarterly reviews
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
- Experience performing month-end close duties
- Familiarity with MS Excel and use of formulas
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people cross-functionally
