The Role

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, working on both backend and frontend systems, and contributing to the overall growth and innovation of our public safety product offerings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions while continuously improving your technical expertise. 

What You Do

• Design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions that align with business needs and project requirements.
• Work closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to understand product requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, production issues, and technical problems.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of software applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Stay up to date with company standards, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to improve the development process and product functionality.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, reviewing code and offering constructive feedback to foster team growth.
• Participate in the team’s development process, including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support team objectives, departmental needs, and overall organizational priorities. 

What You Bring

Required Qualifications: 

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and training.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and C#
• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end frameworks (Node.js, etc.).
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Experience with Git and other version control systems.
• Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing frameworks.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with a focus on problem-solving and solution delivery.
• Familiarity with agile development practices, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Impress Us With

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of telephony systems (SIP, VoIP) and telecommunications protocols.
• Experience with NG911/public safety systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AzureDevOps, etc..), Docker, Kubernetes, or other DevOps tools.
• Experience designing or working with API’s, API based architecture, and API Management tools.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Delphi, C++)
• Familiarity with AI tooling in development workflows.

Responsabilités principales

• Concevoir et développer des solutions logicielles robustes qui répondent aux besoins d'affaires et aux exigences des projets
• Assurer la qualité du code en rédigeant un code clair, efficace et bien documenté
• Effectuer les tests unitaires et d'intégration, et participer activement aux revues de code
• Collaborer étroitement avec les propriétaires de produit, designers et autres membres de l'équipe de développement pour traduire les besoins en solutions techniques efficaces
• Participer activement au processus de développement Agile (planification des sprints, stand-ups quotidiens, rétrospectives)
• Communiquer efficacement avec les collègues et parties prenantes
• Diagnostiquer et résoudre les erreurs en production et autres enjeux techniques
• Contribuer à l'architecture des applications en veillant à leur évolutivité, fiabilité et performance
• Encadrer et soutenir les membres juniors de l'équipe par la révision de code et la rétroaction constructive
• Se tenir à jour avec les nouvelles technologies et meilleures pratiques pour améliorer continuellement les processus.

Profil recherché 

Qualifications essentielles :

• Diplôme en informatique, génie logiciel ou domaine connexe (ou expérience équivalente)
• 2 à 5 années d'expérience en développement logiciel professionnel
• Maîtrise d'un ou plusieurs langages : C#, Python, JavaScript ou équivalents
• Expérience solide avec les technologies front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) et back-end (Node.js, etc.)
• Connaissance pratique des bases de données relationnelles et/ou NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Expérience avec Git et systèmes de contrôle de version
• Familiarité avec les cadres de tests unitaires et d'intégration
• Solides aptitudes analytiques et en débogage, axées sur la résolution de problèmes
• Familiarité avec les pratiques Agile (Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellentes aptitudes en communication et collaboration d'équipe.

Atouts recherchés :

• Expérience avec les services infonuagiques (AWS, Azure)
• Connaissance des pipelines CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), Docker, Kubernetes
• Expérience en conception et utilisation d'API
• Connaissance de langages additionnels (Delphi, Java) ou cadres applicatifs (WPF, WinForms)
• Familiarité avec l'intégration d'outils d'intelligence artificielle dans les flux de développement
