Quality Assurance Analyst (Automation)

The Role 

As a Quality Assurance Analyst II, you have a solid foundation in software testing and a strong drive for quality. As a mid-level QA professional, you play a key role in planning, designing, and executing manual and automated tests to ensure the functionality and stability of our public safety applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality across the software development lifecycle. This role will be aligned with Incident response and CAD products and will be on the front lines of driving quality for police and fire users. Your work will have a direct impact on providing excellent services to our customers and the citizenry they represent. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and test plans based on product requirements and user stories.
  • Evaluate that test case acceptance criteria has been met.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and other Agile ceremonies. 
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure product quality throughout the release cycle. 
  • Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide feedback to stakeholders. 
  • Maintain and enhance test scripts, frameworks, and automation suites. 
  • Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to improving QA best practices. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support team objectives, departmental needs, and overall organizational priorities.  

What You’ll Bring 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and training. 
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in quality assurance or relevant testing role. 
  • Proficient in writing test cases, executing tests, and logging bugs. 
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, playwright, Postman, etc. 
  • Experience with testing Desktop Applications (WPF), API’s, web applications, and/or mobile applications. 
  • Experience with using test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Zephyr, etc. 
  • Ability to approach problems methodically and seek solutions with minimal guidance. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. 
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies. 
  • Clearance: Ability to pass a criminal background check for CJIS security requirements.  

Impress Us With 

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. 
  • Exposure to CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc. 
  • Experience with security and/or performance testing tools such as LoadNinja, Invicti, Qualys, etc. 
  • ISTQB or relevant certifications. 
  • Familiarity with AI tooling in development workflows. 

This position requires security clearances due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada. Additionally, candidates must comply with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment.
