Sales Account Manager, Strategic Accounts

U.S. (Remote)

The Company

Versaterm is a PE-backed, high-growth SaaS company building a fully integrated platform across the entire public safety ecosystem — dispatch, law enforcement, forensics, courts, and beyond.  We've grown through strategic acquisitions and deep product investment. What connects all of it is a single purpose: give public safety agencies the tools and insights to make better decisions in high-stakes moments.

When a 911 call is answered, a detective investigates a case, or a forensic lab processes evidence, there's a good chance our software is working behind the scenes. That's been true for over four decades.

AI is central to where we're going. Not as a feature but as core infrastructure. We're embedding intelligence directly into the workflows our customers rely on every day, and we're doing it alongside them. Our customers tell us what the mission demands. We build what answers it.

This work attracts a specific kind of person — someone who wants to be pushed by great people, build things that outlast a sprint cycle, and go home knowing the work connected back to something real.

The Role

Versaterm is hiring a Sales Account Manager to grow our footprint inside existing public safety customers. This is an expansion role, not a new-logo role. You'll work a portfolio of established strategic accounts and sell the full Versaterm ecosystem into them: CAD, RMS, DroneSense, Community Report, and the rest of the portfolio as it grows. Success means deepening relationships, uncovering new needs, and turning satisfied customers into multi-product, long-term partners.

This job posting is being used to fill an existing vacancy.

What You Do

  • Own the commercial relationship for a portfolio of existing strategic accounts, including state police, large municipal police departments, county and regional dispatch centers, and multi-agency programs.
  • Develop account plans that map each customer's current Versaterm footprint against the full product ecosystem and identify the highest-value expansion opportunities.
  • Drive upsells and cross-sell of additional products, modules, agencies, and subscription tiers into the installed base.
  • Lead renewal and expansion conversations, structuring pricing and bundles that increase customer value and Versaterm's recurring revenue.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships with chiefs, sheriffs, CIOs, dispatch directors, and elected or appointed decision-makers.
  • Navigate public-sector procurement for add-on purchases, including funding sources, council or board approvals, co-op purchasing vehicles, and contract amendments.
  • Partner closely with implementation, customer success, support, product, marketing, and contracts to keep customers happy and surface new opportunities early.
  • Work with the SAE team so that new customers are handed off cleanly and nurtured after go-live.
  • Forecast accurately and maintain disciplined pipeline and CRM hygiene.
  • Represent Versaterm at customer sites, user groups, and industry conferences, with regular travel.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of enterprise software sales or account management experience, ideally in public safety, government, or another complex, long-cycle market
  • Proven track record of growing revenue within existing accounts through upsell, cross-sell, and renewals, and consistently meeting or exceeding quota
  • Ability to speak credibly about a multi-product portfolio and connect it to a customer's operational and budget realities
  • Working knowledge of public sector buying processes, including funding, approvals, and procurement vehicles
  • Credibility with law enforcement, dispatch, or public safety leaders; existing relationships in the space are a strong plus
  • Experience with CAD, RMS, or related public safety technology is highly preferred
  • Strong executive presence, negotiation skills, and written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable with 50% travel.

Note: Due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies, this position requires compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment. For more information on CJIS security requirements, please visit the FBI's CJIS Security Policy Resource Center.

In addition to base salary and our comprehensive benefits offering, some roles may also be eligible for variable compensation such as incentive plans or discretionary performance bonuses.
