Summary:
The Associate Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, editing, negotiating and processing lease agreements and other various real estate-related contracts, including amendments. Provide comprehensive legal services associated with the acquisition or leasing of land or the leasing of third party owned sites in relation to a national business which owns, operates, and manages telecommunications real estate assets across the US. The Associate Counsel will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate turnaround of real estate-related agreements and the achievement of the Leasing Operations team’s objectives and goals.
Job Functions:
Negotiate and draft purchase agreements, lease agreements and easements (including amendments) associated with the securing of real property relating to communications towers consistent with transaction information provided by Development
Advise the Company’s various personnel on real estate related matters for which they seek assistance and provide legal support and guidance
Review survey and title relating to targeted properties, provide advice in overcoming issues
Communicate diligently and professionally, via email and telephone, with landowners and external parties representing landowners to negotiate and resolve outstanding matters and finalize agreements
Represent the Company with the upmost professionalism, demonstrating a flexible and friendly attitude and approach towards resolving matters and negotiating transactions
Support and assist Senior Vice President of Leasing Operations with responding to questions and issues associated with securing targeted properties
Support team of contract managers in finalizing documents
Review legal impediments associated with project management items to authorize and approve tower construction starts
Become proficient in the variety of the Company’s contract management software and systems

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Position will work directly from the corporate office with minimum travel.
Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and JD and must possess a current, active license to practice law
Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing in real estate related activities required.
Telecommunications transactional experience preferred
Excellent drafting, writing and document production skills
Proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office Word. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
Requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, negotiating skills and the ability to work quickly and independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and under firm deadlines
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth changing environment with a high level of productivity
