Your role: As a People Team Generalist, you will contribute to the growth and success of our employees and our company. You will support the People Operations function by ensuring our data, processes, and policies are organized, accurate, and helpful.  You will have impact in multiple areas of the global employee experience, including onboarding, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, performance management, leaves and offboarding.  You must be comfortable wearing many hats, making recommendations and decisions balancing the needs of both employees and our company, and participating in the creation and execution of People-programs. 

 

As you progress as a Generalist, you will develop domain expertise in specific categories of People Operations, develop V1 drafts of HR initiatives, policies, and procedures, and increasingly collaborate with members outside the People team in support of employees, managers, and the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • People Operations Systems & Vendors
    • Participate in the implementation of People-related systems
    • Maintain the accuracy of data and documentation in our systems 
    • Support optimization of our systems, including workflows, integrations, and data rules 
    • Provide reporting and data analysis to support People programs and policies 
    • Assist in the evaluation and management of vendors relating to People Ops
  • Recruitment & Employer Branding 
    • Support the development of employer branding collateral
    • Coordinate recruitment efforts and communicate with candidates as necessary
  • Onboarding and Employee Lifecycle
    • Support and coordinate a smooth and effective onboarding and offboarding for VGV employees and contracted workforce
    • Assist with execution of internal processes such as compensation adjustments, promotions, and performance reviews
    • Contribute to the development of People-related policies and processes 
    • Support employees in understanding and following VGV processes set forth in the handbook, including relating to PTO,  leaves, and travel
    • Promptly and accurately answer questions relating to payroll, benefits, and other core HR offerings 
    • Support and project manage People-related initiatives, meetings, and calendars 
  • Employee Engagement 
    • Be an active participant in VGV events that support company values and community 
    • Support culture and engagement initiatives, including employee recognition, swag, and the planning of events
    • Coordinate all-company meetings, internal communications, and training events 
    • Manage and contribute to Notion to ensure all levels of VGV have ready access to resources relating to People team initiatives and policies 
    • Support efforts to ensure VGV is a positive, inclusive work environment that has a diversity of people, cultures, and ideas
  • Compliance
    • Stay informed about labor and employment laws relevant to your business partners
    • Contribute to compliant policies and practices relating to our people

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Recent Graduates or final-year students preferred 
  • 2+ yrs of HR experience at a tech company
  • Ability to problem solve and connect decisions to big picture goals
  • Desire to build a world-class people operations function for a global, dispersed workforce 
  • Desire and openness to learn many facets of a scaling people operations function and willingness to ask “why”
  • Ability to prioritize and organize your time to get things done often under deadlines
  • No job is too big or too small
  • You are driven to improve processes and systems, and are naturally “a doer”
  • Good listener and communicator (written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills 
  • Attention to detail, organized and detail-oriented
  • Have experience managing confidential information with discretion
  • Startup experience and/or experience working for a global company is a plus
