JOB SUMMARY: The HVAC Engineer will be responsible for the development and design of HVAC design documents.
JOB DUTIES:
- Utilize Revit and other software and BIM processes to perform HVAC design.
- Develop mechanical HVAC duct layout and HVAC equipment layout drawings.
- Coordinate with local vendors and suppliers for selection of HVAC equipment.
- Coordinate with other departments to avoid any clashes and/or delay of projects issuance.
- Understand and interpret HVAC flow diagrams and develop and create physical design consistent with the engineering requirements and industry standard.
- Plan and execute design of mechanical HVAC deliverables with help of Project Management and Senior Engineers.
- Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers.
- Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned including design and routing of plumbing systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
- This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Similar is required.
- 2 to 5 years of direct experience is required.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD).
- Experience with, and understanding of, Engineering, Architecture, and Construction terminology is required.
- Experience in the review of project deliverables and drawing requirements.
- Experience in the review of vendor drawings.
- Plumbing design experience is a plus.
- Experience in designing HVAC for warehouses, cold room storage rooms, Refrigeration Equipment room, and miscellaneous food and beverage facilities is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Typical range for this position is dependent on education and experience relevant to the position.
Compensation Information
$80,000 - $125,000 USD
