JOB SUMMARY: The Civil Design Engineer will perform civil site design, roadway, commercial design, and water and sewer.   

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Perform site layout and design, grading, Stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer design, and erosion control design.
  • Conduct flood studies.
  • Develop pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
  • Interface directly with clients and external partners.
  • Maintain Civil Design/ engineering standards and procedures.
  • Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
  • Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
  • This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 3 of years of experience is required.
  • Registered P.E is preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Must comply with Vestal Corporations’ core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and maintain sound relationships among and with employees.

Typical range for this position is dependent on education and experience relevant to the position. 

Compensation Information

$100,000 - $130,000 USD
