Who Are We Looking For?
Vestwell is looking for a self-motivated, analytical, and strategically minded VP of Accounting Partnerships to oversee the strategy, business development, and relationship management with CPA and accounting firms. At a high level, we’re looking for someone who has in-depth experience in the recordkeeping space, has great communication and problem solving skills, and the proven ability to build a preferred network for a channel. Reporting to the Head of Workplace Sales and Distribution, this role will oversee all aspects of the go-to-market strategy with accounting firms required for Vestwell to gain and accelerate traction in this important market segment.
What Will You Be Doing At Vestwell?
Vestwell's Enterprise Sales team is responsible for growing Vestwell with enterprise prospects and channel partners. The VP of Accounting Partnerships is responsible for creating and executing on the strategy with CPA and accounting firms. This role will provide an opportunity to experience the entire ecosystem of Enterprise Business Development and will work cross-functionally to create and manage a preferred network of these providers.
Day-to-day, you will be expected to:
- Establish and deliver on a go-to-market strategy specific to the CPA and accounting firm space that will expand Vestwell’s market share in the retirement market.
- Create and manage a preferred network of accounting firms and work closely with Sales and Marketing on GTM enablement and activity, including sales strategy, processes, and pricing.
- Source and execute strategic partnerships with accounting firms with meaningful existing or potential 401k business that want to create white-labeled small business retirement plan programs to expand distribution.
- Own and collaborate on data and reporting on success metrics by working cross functionally with Revenue Operations and Sales.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Retirement Services, Product, Engineering, Technology, Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to communicate and assess prospect fit to Vestwell.
Requirements
The Necessities
- Professional experience in a client-facing retirement role, specifically at a recordkeeper.
- An established network in the industry working across providers and key centers of influence, including CPAs or accounting firms.
- Strategic problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and nimbly
- Travel expected 30%+ including visits to prospective clients and to the Vestwell HQ in NYC
The Extras
- Experience at a growing Fintech SaaS-based firm
- Experience in National Accounts Sales at a Recordkeeper or Third Party Administrator (TPA)
This role will be based in either the New York City, Austin, King of Prussia, or Phoenix office, and will be part of Vestwell's hybrid in-office operation.
The expected base salary range for this position is a minimum of $100K - $110K, plus performance based variable. Please note that salary bands are based on NY and other similar metro areas and may differ based on where the role is ultimately hired.
