đŸŸ Associate Veterinarian – Love Coffee, Chaos & Cuddles? You’ve Found Your People. đŸŸ

Fairfax Animal Hospital | Falls Church, VA (Washington, D.C. Suburb)
Do you thrive in a world where no two days are the same? Where teamwork, laughter, and excellent medicine go hand-in-paw? If you’ve got a passion for patient care, a love for learning, and a soft spot for the occasional (okay, frequent) chaos, Fairfax Animal Hospital might just be your new home.

About Us
We’re a busy, well-loved small animal practice that’s been serving our Northern Virginia community for over 70 years—and we’ve never lost our spark. Our team is compassionate, collaborative, and maybe just a little bit quirky. We’ve got:
  • Experienced DVMs who love mentoring (and swapping stories)
  • A stellar support staff who actually know where everything is
  • A coffee machine that works
 most of the time
  • Clients who love their pets (and occasionally bring treats!)
Our culture is rooted in support, growth, and a whole lot of camaraderie. Whether it’s celebrating a patient’s tail wag, surviving a Monday together, or navigating the latest Wi-Fi printer rebellion, we’ve built a place where medicine meets meaning—and humor helps everything run a little smoother.

What You'll Do
  • Practice high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine with a collaborative team behind you
  • Manage everything from wellness visits to urgent care cases—sometimes all before lunch
  • Build lasting relationships with awesome, compliant clients
  • Occasionally get covered in fur, slobber, or mystery fluids (comes with the territory)

Who You Are
  • A licensed DVM (new grad or experienced) with a great sense of humor
  • Calm under pressure, curious by nature, and kind by default
  • Ready to collaborate, teach, learn, and maybe join in on the office memes
  • Comfortable with fractious cats, unpredictable dogs, and the occasional printer jam

Perks of the Job
  • Competitive salary + monthly bonus plan (no negative accrual!)
  • Relocation stipend & potential signing bonus for multi-year commitments
  • Full benefits package, including:
    • Paid vacation & sick leave
    • Health, dental, vision insurance (with generous employer contribution)
    • Short-term disability (100% covered), liability insurance, 401k with strong match
    • Coverage for all licensing & professional fees
  • Continuing education perks:
    • Customized CE package + a full week off each year
    • Access to Vet Specialists On Demand, MentorVet, AbleTo, and more
    • New grads: Participate in our wet-lab-focused Support From the Start mentorship program
  • Work-life balance: We want you to enjoy your time inside and outside the clinic

About Fairfax Animal Hospital
We’re proud of our history—and even prouder of how we’ve evolved. Our founder, Dr. Jerry Goldfarb, is still a cherished presence in the clinic (between fly-fishing trips), and our commitment to patient care, education, and community runs deep.
  • Ultrasound and dental radiology on-site
  • New urgent care service recently added
  • Special interests welcome: exotics, soft tissue surgery, wellness, ortho—you name it
  • Part of the VetEvolve network, where our core values—Serve, Evolve, Trust—guide everything we do
“They allow me the freedom to practice as I see fit
We make our own decisions at the clinic level. It still feels like a small, supportive family—just with better benefits.”
– A current VetEvolve veterinarian

Why You’ll Love It Here
Because you’ll practice great medicine, laugh daily, and grow as a clinician—and as a human. You’ll join a team that shows up for each other and celebrates wins big and small (with cake, of course).

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
