Field Operations Manager

As a Field Operations Manager at Via, you will be responsible to oversee the daily operations for our services in Berlin. You are the first line contact for our driving personnel, ensuring that they have a good experience and making sure that we provide a top service for our partner and customers. Together with the larger Operations team it will be your task to offer a high-quality service that is continuously developed and optimised. 

About the Role:

  • Ensure operational excellence and an incredible experience for our customers.
  • Oversee our daily operations in Berlin, acting as the contact person for our driving personnel and ensure a solid and sustainable work environment.
  • Analyze and interpret metrics in order to identify possible inefficiencies and apply analysis to optimize operations.
  • Prioritize operational issues as the real-time point of contact and implement creative solutions to solve problems as they arise, looking at both short-term fixes and long-term solutions.
  • Respond to driver feedback and live customer issues.
  • Work collaboratively with a broad interdisciplinary team to scale operational processes, systems, and tools to drive rapid growth.

About You:

  • Fluency in German and English with the ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully.
  • Operationally experienced, with a background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
  • Relationship oriented, earning trust from drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners through clear communication and follow-through.
  • Hands-on and proactive, preferring to be in the field, learning the service firsthand, and solving problems where they happen.
  • Tactical and strategic, able to problem-solve issues as they come up but also think long term about solutions to mitigate these occurrences.
  • Mission driven, motivated by expanding access to transportation and improving how communities move.
  • Based in Berlin, ready to be onsite about 3 days a week.
