Business Development Associate, Citymapper Ads

London

At Citymapper (a Via company), we’re on a mission to help make complex cities more accessible to everyday users. Our application transports millions of people in hundreds of cities around the world by giving them access to the most current and sophisticated transportation options available.

As a Business Development Associate, you'll be an important part of scaling Citymapper’s advertising business. You'll learn the ropes of media sales from the ground up: building relationships with brands and agencies, supporting campaign development, and helping grow direct advertising revenue. Your work will have real reach: advertising is a critical part of how Citymapper funds and expands the solutions we build for cities and transit agencies around the world.

About the Role:

  • Execute on our go-to-market strategy for advertising by identifying prospective clients and building a pipeline of campaign opportunities
  • Develop tailored campaign proposals and sales materials that clearly communicate our value proposition to brands and agencies
  • Become a confident spokesperson for our advertising proposition, educating clients and agencies on best practices
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth campaign execution, providing ongoing client support to optimise performance and drive results
  • Track market and customer trends and feed insights back to the wider team to inform product and revenue opportunities
  • Work towards and consistently meet revenue targets, contributing to overall team goals

About You:

  • 2+ years of relevant commercial or client-facing experience (whether in advertising, media, tech sales, or another fast-paced environment)
  • Some exposure to business development or sales processes, with an eagerness to develop end-to-end commercial skills
  • A strong communicator who is comfortable working across teams and building relationships with external partners
  • Passionate and motivated — you're energised by outreach, not discouraged by rejection, and excited to build something over time
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once without dropping the ball
  • A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and takes initiative without waiting to be told what to do
  • French language skills are a plus

What We Offer:

  • Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good
  • Competitive compensation including equity
  • A hybrid working model and a spacious office near Chancery Lane, where you can enjoy weekly team lunches
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid parental leave, and health scheme offered through AXA
  • Partnership with YellowNest, a salary exchange benefit that helps reduce childcare fees for working parents
  • Cycle to Work Scheme - multiple options via Green Commute Initiative (GCI)

There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility. Ready to join the ride?
