Type: Full-time Employee (W-2) position
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
Residence: Current U.S. residence and within U.S for 3 of the past 5 years.
Location: 100% United States (U.S.) Based Remote with ALL being performed within the U.S.
Trail Pass: U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a talented UI/UX Design Analyst to join our growing team! In this dynamic role, you’ll play a critical role in crafting intuitive and impactful user experiences for web-based and client-server applications. You’ll lead design sprints, conduct user research, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to create user-centered designs that meet both user needs and regulatory standards. This role is essential in bridging the gap between design and development, ensuring that the end product is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of technical experience designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar. 
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, with the ability to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND RESIDE IN THE U.S. - All work must be performed in the U.S.
  • Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants’ history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.

Technical and Skills Requirements:

  • 5+ years of UI/ UX Design Expertise: Expert knowledge of new design techniques and user-centered design (UCD) process methods to digital applications from concept to launch.
  • User Research and Analysis: Expert in user research methodologies, user centered design principles and frameworks, and user interface design standards. Advanced understanding of user personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and other research tools.
  • Prototyping and Collaboration: Expert in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), and InVision. for wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs tailored to user needs. Create visual elements like layouts, color schemes, typography, and interactive elements.
  • Frontend & Accessibility: Advanced in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular, with expertise in WCAG and Section 508 compliance for accessible, user-friendly interfaces.

Strongly Preferred Requirements: 

  • Government sector experience, especially with DHS
  • Current holder of Public Trust clearance.
  • Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) or similar
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Certifications related to UI/UX Design or Human-Computer Interaction- UI/UX Design or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
  • Agile methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • DevSecOps: Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design Sprints & User Research: Plan and conduct design sprints, end-user research, usability testing, and reviews. Analyze user data to inform design decisions, ensuring that products are both user-friendly and compliant with client objectives.
  • UI/UX Design: Provide specialized expertise in the design and layout of graphical user interfaces, focusing on screen layouts and functionality for client-server applications (e.g., Microsoft Windows presentation screens). Create intuitive, efficient, and accessible designs that enhance user experiences.
  • Prototype Testing & Evaluation: Conduct studies, testing, and evaluation of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy. Iterate designs based on feedback to refine and perfect the user interface.
  • Workflow Design: Design user experiences for new and existing web-based applications from concept to completion. Develop workflows and experiences that are intuitive, effective, and accessible, ensuring seamless interaction for the end user.
  • Visual Communication: Communicate ideas effectively through low and high-fidelity mockups. Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to improve the final product.
  • Long-Term UI/UX Vision: Develop both short-term and long-term UI/UX visions for products, ensuring consistency and coherence across the user experience. Collaborate with developers and analysts to implement approved designs.
