Location: Onsite at a government site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area

Compensation: $80,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience and assignment

Eligibility & Clearance Requirements

Due to CBP contract requirements, applicants must:

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Meet CBP suitability requirements for access to government facilities and systems.
• Meet any clearance requirements for the specific assignment. Some openings may require a Secret or Top Secret clearance; certain specialized assignments may also require SCI eligibility. We will confirm the requirement for each role.

One posting, several possible routes. We are hiring for multiple openings at different experience levels, which is why the experience and salary ranges are broad. Depending on the assignment, you could work in security monitoring, threat analysis, incident response, investigations, or vulnerability assessment. We will match your strengths to the role that fits.

Your Mission

• Analyze security alerts, logs, events, and other data to identify suspicious activity and assess its impact.
• Investigate potential incidents, document findings, and help teams determine appropriate escalation and response.
• Support vulnerability analysis, threat intelligence, or proactive threat hunting where aligned with your skills.
• Collaborate with engineers, incident responders, system owners, and other stakeholders to resolve findings and strengthen defenses.
• Maintain clear case notes, reports, procedures, and recommendations that others can act on.

What You Bring to the Expedition

• Approximately 1–5 years of experience in security operations, cyber analysis, incident response, investigations, vulnerability assessment, or a related discipline.
• Experience interpreting alerts and logs, researching potential threats, and explaining findings clearly.
• Familiarity with security monitoring or investigation tools, such as SIEM, endpoint detection, vulnerability scanning, or threat intelligence platforms.
• Sound judgment about when to investigate further, escalate, or involve another technical team.
• Ability to work onsite in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Experience with detection rules, network traffic analysis, digital evidence, insider threat monitoring, or penetration testing is welcome. We will match candidates to openings based on the depth of their experience in those areas.

How We Work

• These positions work onsite at a government site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The specific site depends on the assignment.
• You’ll collaborate with Via Logic teammates, government partners, and other technical teams using tools approved for your work environment.
• Schedules depend on the assignment. Some teams work daytime Eastern Time hours; others may have shift or on-call requirements. We’ll discuss the schedule for a specific opening before moving forward.
• When virtual meetings are part of the work, we expect active participation and use video when appropriate and permitted by the client environment.
