Tax Director
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Tax Director will oversee all aspects of the company’s tax function, including strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, optimizing the company’s effective tax rate, maintaining compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic insight to senior leadership. The Tax Director will manage relationships with external advisors and collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal and other teams to support corporate objectives and decision-making.
THE DAY-TO-DAY

Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, including review of corporate and partnership returns, projections, quarterly estimates, and partner distributions.

Support preparation and review of income tax provisions (ASC 740), assumptions, journal entries, and disclosures in coordination with Finance, Accounting, and external advisors.

Manage property, business license, sales & use, and other local tax filings, along with audits and tax authority inquiries.

Coordinate R&D tax credit studies and Section 174 analyses.

Lead tax planning and research to minimize liabilities and optimize the effective tax rate.

Ensure compliance with reporting standards, internal controls, and SOX regulations while driving process improvements and technology adoption.

Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and SEC teams on forecasting, structuring, and reporting.

Deliver executive-level reporting and insights to support strategic decisions.

Manage relationships with external tax providers and auditors to ensure alignment and timely execution.
GREAT TO HAVE
-
8–10 years of relevant tax experience with Big 4 (or equivalent) and/or a large corporate tax department, including U.S. income tax provisions and SEC/statutory reporting.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.

Strong background in corporate and partnership income tax compliance, ASC 740, and U.S. GAAP; Up-C and TRA experience a plus.

Experience with public company or private equity–backed tax reporting environments.

Skilled in tax process automation and modern tax software (e.g., Alteryx, OneSource, Vertex).

Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across functions and manage external partners.

Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and business partnership skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Highly organized self-starter with strong judgment, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
