VP, Product Management - Data

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The ideal candidate is a hands-on product leader and data evangelist with deep expertise in first-party data use cases, third-party data partnerships, and raw data inputs as they relate to AI-powered media planning and execution. This person will partner closely with executive leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and external partners to drive integration, scale Viant's data infrastructure, and ensure alignment with customer and business goals.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Own and evolve the company-wide data strategy across all core platforms, with a focus on performance, scale, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage and expand data partnerships in collaboration with Viant’s Identity and Data & Tech Partnerships teams, ensuring seamless integration into Viant’s ecosystem.
  • Partner with the SVP of Data, Identity, and Supply and engineering leadership to translate company priorities into clear product requirements, aligning roadmaps across engineering and go-to-market teams.
  • Identify strategic opportunities across third-party data and AI planning/decisioning, exploring partnerships or technology integrations that strengthen Viant’s competitive position.
  • Drive regular internal communication around product milestones, key decisions, business challenges, and progress toward goals with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Champion Viant’s data strategy internally and externally as a core differentiator, building understanding and adoption of data-driven capabilities across the organization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data and AI trends, helping teams across Viant understand capabilities, competitive advantages, and market positioning.
  • Hold teams accountable through clear project planning, close collaboration with engineering on execution timelines, progress tracking, and reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Establish credibility with Viant’s leadership team by contributing insight and thought leadership on how data contributes to the company’s long-term vision and impact.

GREAT TO HAVE

  • 10+ years of product leadership experience in adtech, martech, or data-driven software environments, with at least 3 years focused on data partnerships and use cases.
  • Deep knowledge of digital advertising infrastructure including DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, ad servers, and measurement.
  • Extensive experience partnering with engineering teams to design, build, and deliver complex technical solutions, including defining system architecture, data flow, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Strong understanding of data solutions including third-party data marketplaces, first-party data onboarding, and raw data as it relates to AI model inputs.
  • Confident communicator who can synthesize technical and strategic ideas for diverse audiences including executives, clients, and partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment.
  • BA/BS required; advanced degree or technical background preferred.

Base compensation range: $200,000 - $250,000
In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant’s reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.  Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
