Communications and Engagement Specialist

Note:
This is a 100% remote role for candidates based in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia). Candidates can be located within a 2-hour commute from Washington, D.C.
About the Role:
Viderity is seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Specialist who will lead strategies and projects to communicate and engage with targeted audience groups for their government client.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience shaping and executing strategic communications plans and coordinating in-person and virtual events. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable engaging with external audiences; developing content including web copy, graphics, and advertisements; having a strong eye for detail and experience copyediting; and bringing creativity and fresh ideas to everything they do. The ideal candidate is committed to maintaining high-quality standards and is proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engagement programs, design digital content, and launch digital communications to boost audience engagement and participation
- Identify and coordinate paid advertising and conference activities
- Develop monthly newsletters and other regular email communications
- Support the ongoing development and execution of communication strategies that increase audience engagement
- Plan and execute in-person and virtual events
- Copywrite and copyedit content in line with brand style guide and client preferences
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or related discipline
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including experience working with vendors and maintaining vendor relationships
- Experience building communities of practice with high engagement rates
- Experience planning and hosting in-person and virtual events (CMP certification a plus!)
- Ability to be proactive, to multi-task, and to collaborate as a team player
- Ability to obtain Public Trust-level security clearance
Salary Range:
$69,510 to $97,576
