This is a 100% onsite role - Alaska, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER)

Viderity is seeking a Network Administrator responsible for maintaining, configuring, and supporting the company’s computer network, including servers, hardware, and software. The role involves monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing security updates, managing user access, and ensuring optimal network stability and functionality. The Network Administrator will work closely with technical teams and vendors to maintain a secure and efficient network environment. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Continuously monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot network problems. 
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, manage user access levels, and respond to security threats. 
  •  Install and configure new network hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls. 
  • Apply software updates and patches to maintain network stability and security. 
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts and permissions on the network. 
  • Implement and maintain data backup procedures to ensure business continuity in case of system failures. 
  • Analyze network traffic and identify areas for improvement to optimize network performance. 
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configuration, topology, and troubleshooting procedures. 
  • Collaborate with network hardware and software vendors to resolve technical issues and negotiate contracts. 

Required Skills:  

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related network administration position 
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network security concepts, and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues 
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of network problems and implement effective solutions 
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical users 
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in network configuration and documentation 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance 
  • Familiarity with network hardware/software installation and configuration (e.g., servers, routers, switches, firewalls) 
  • Experience maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations and procedures 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience working in an onsite environment requiring security clearance 
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) 
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation 
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery best practices 
  • Familiarity with network performance optimization techniques and tools 
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and security management systems

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
