Viral Nation is seeking a precise, platform-fluent Video Optimization Editor to join our Studio team. This is not a conceptual or campaign-origination role — it's an execution-focused position built around one core task: taking existing influencer and creator content and optimizing it to be acutely aligned with platform readiness and brand-specified criteria.
Working exclusively for a marquee CPG brand, you'll work within a defined set of digital content standards bespoke to their brand, reformatting and optimizing raw and existing creator assets so they meet the technical and structural requirements of major social platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)— before they go live. Speed, accuracy, and a trained eye for what's brand and platform compliant are the skills this role demands.
You are the kind of editor who reads platform update documentation. You notice when a super is 3 pixels outside a safe zone. You don't find structured checklist work limiting — you find it clarifying. You're fast, consistent, and don't need ambiguity to do your best work.
What You'll Do Here:
- Receive raw influencer and creator video content, as well as existing cuts and reformat it to meet a designated set of brand criteria as well as platform-specific technical requirements across Meta, TikTok, YouTube,
- Recut and crop assets to varying aspect ratios (9:16, 4:5, 1:1) - by scratch when working with raw footage, and via tactics like letterboxing or pillarboxing with existing cuts.
- Ensure brand logos and visual identifiers appear within the first 1–2 seconds of every video asset.
- Add, retime, or replace text supers and captions so content is fully legible without audio - optimized for sound-off environments.
- Verify all text and graphic elements fall within platform-safe and brand-designated content zones, avoiding UI overlap areas on every placement.
- Trim video length to match platform-optimal durations per placement type (e.g., feed vs. stories vs. in-stream).
- Audit audio tracks and ensure active sound elements are present and appropriately mixed.
- Run pre-submission quality checks against a defined checklist before any asset is delivered for posting.
- Manage simultaneous asset versions across multiple brands, platforms, and markets with consistent output quality.
- Flag content that cannot be made compliant without reshooting or creator re-submission, and communicate that clearly to project leads.
What You'll Need To Have:
- 2–5 years of video editing and optimization experience, with a significant portion in social-first or digital advertising contexts.
- Deep working knowledge of platform specs and UI behaviour across Meta (Feed, Stories, Reels), TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects a strong plus for motion supers and text animation.
- Demonstrated ability to work against technical compliance checklists, not just creative direction.
- Strong understanding of caption and subtitle workflows (SRT, burned-in captions, auto-caption correction).
- Ability to manage a high volume of assets simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.
- Comfort receiving structured feedback and iterating quickly — this role operates in a review-and-revise workflow, not a solo creative one.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience working within a brand compliance or creative quality framework at an agency or CPG brand.
- Familiarity with dynamic ad formats or DCO (Dynamic Creative Optimization) asset structures.
- Basic motion design skills for creating or adjusting lower-thirds and supers natively.
- Experience working with creator-generated content specifically (as opposed to studio-produced footage).
