This role is located in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of 3 days per week in office.

  • Establish and maintain tax-related internal controls and documentation in alignment with SOX and company policies.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of evolving tax legislation (e.g., U.S. tax reform, OECD Pillar Two, global minimum tax) on the company and advise senior leadership accordingly.

Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global tax strategy aligned with the Company’s business objectives, capital structure, and U.S. commercialization plans.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Business Development to structure commercial arrangements, licensing, collaborations, and supply-chain models in a tax-efficient and compliant manner.
  • Lead tax planning for the anticipated commercial launch of our Hepatitis Delta product in the U.S., including manufacturing and distribution structures, as well a potentially transfer pricing and cross-border cash repatriation.
  • Evaluate and optimize the use of net operating losses (NOLs), tax credits, and other attributes, including in the U.S. and our foreign subsidiaries.

Commercialization & Operational Support

  • Advise on tax aspects of product pricing, distribution agreements, inventory flows, and third-party manufacturing and logistics arrangements.

  • 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including significant experience in multinational corporate environments (public company or large private).
  • Strong technical expertise in U.S. federal and state corporate income tax, ASC 740, and international tax.

  • Proven experience supporting or leading tax aspects of commercialization and product launch (preferably in biotech/pharma or a similarly regulated industry).
  • Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” approach; comfortable operating as a sole tax resource while building scalable processes.
  • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries preferred, ideally in a high-growth or pre-commercial to commercial transition environment

Form CC-305

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
