Technical Delivery Lead

San Francisco Bay Area

Virtasant is a global cloud services provider with industry-leading technology, capabilities, and people. We have been working in the cloud, testing the limits of its capabilities, since the start. To do this, we have built one of the world's largest fully remote organizations. We transform, build, and optimize products on the cloud every day, helping companies make the most of the cloud's native capabilities. Our best-in-class cost optimization platform, deep technical expertise, and agile delivery model enable us to consistently drive exceptional value and performance for our clients.

Our goal is to help organizations thrive in the cloud, and we offer a wide range of services and technology platforms to help them accelerate and optimize their cloud journey. To support our clients on this ambitious journey, we are looking for highly skilled, client-focused project leaders to lead Virtasant projects and ensure that clients see amazing outcomes on every single engagement.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of a new DevOps-focused infrastructure pod for a key client. You will manage the full scope and success of the pod, collaborating with a global team of elite professionals and helping build scalable delivery systems in a complex, asynchronous, and high-growth environment.

This is a remote position, ideally based in the San Francisco Bay Area, as there is weekly travel requirement to the client site in the South Bay.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of accountability for the DevOps pod.
  • Own the full lifecycle delivery of the infrastructure-focused pod, ensuring successful outcomes and stability across customer clusters.
  • Lead a globally distributed team providing 24x5 support across multiple time zones (LATAM, Europe, Asia).
  • Collaborate closely with client stakeholders, interpreting ambiguous requests and translating them into actionable workstreams.
  • Build pod-level processes that support asynchronous delivery and ensure continuous momentum across time zones.
  • Work with project stakeholders to manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate status clearly.
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional support processes from the ground up.
  • Build and report on key delivery metrics.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex infrastructure or software engineering projects, ideally in a consulting or services setting.
  • Strong leadership background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or infrastructure team management.
  • Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Docker, Ansible, and Terraform; ability to lead technical discussions and troubleshoot issues at a high level.
  • Experience leading globally distributed teams in asynchronous environments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with limited direction; comfort navigating ambiguity and proactively seeking clarity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Prior experience building and managing technical delivery pods or teams from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Exposure to the “Big 3” cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Temporal (preferred).

 Our recruitment process

  • Recruiter interview (45 min)
  • Program/project Management Skills Interview (with one of our Technical Delivery Leads and a Project Delivery Lead) (45 min)
  • Hiring Manager interview (30 min)
  • CEO Interview (60 min)

What we offer

  • Remote role with regular client visits (full-time, 40h/week)

  • Flexible hours, generally within Pacific Time

  • USD payment

  • Flexible paid time off (PTO)

  • Multicultural, diverse working environment

  • Training and certification opportunities on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a repeatable delivery model for infrastructure operations. If you're a proactive technical leader who thrives in distributed environments and enjoys building high-performing pods from scratch, we’d love to hear from you.
