Compensation Range: $75,000 - $95,000 Base

Team & Position Details:

Virtru is looking for an IT Administrator to manage the day-to-day IT requests of our employees in the DC office. At its core, it is a customer service job, providing the support and technology that allow employees to perform their jobs. Your ability to anticipate the needs of the office and be proactive are as important as your ability to respond to user’s requests and unpredictable workplace 

The IT Administrator will partner with other teams regularly, including the People, Security, Engineering, and Finance. As Virtru grows, so too will the size and scope of the applications and processes you own. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get work done, but also to think critically about how best to scale IT resources and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all IT operations at headquarters, providing comprehensive support to onsite staff across hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Provide remote support across multiple time-zones for geographically distributed end-users responding to tickets, incoming calls, direct messages, and e-mails to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. engineering, security)
  • Acquire, provision, and manage endpoint and hardware inventory and lifecycle
  • Provision and de-provision employee identity and access
  • Troubleshoot local and cloud based application issues
  • Create and improve technical documentation for internal systems, procedures, and end-user solutions
  • Perform audits of permissions and access across IT systems
  • Partner with Security to meet compliance standards, including SOC 2, FedRAMP, and PCI
  • Communicate with stakeholders, plan, lead, and execute on scheduled timelines for cross-departmental projects and departmental objectives
  • Maintenance of network and related systems
  • Identifying opportunities for automation - driving development and implementation in partnership with a project manager and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of IT support
  • A passion for helping others and working directly with people
  • Experience supporting and deploying macOS, iPadOS, and Windows systems in a business environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Provide on-call emergency services outside of standard business hours as needed
  • Availability to participate in periodic after-hours maintenance
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users easily
  • Enthusiastic about creating and documenting processes and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies
  • Ability to work quickly and simultaneously on multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity, often with multiple departments and disciplines
  • Self directed and collaborative -- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team as needed
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience required
  • Familiarity with application packaging and deployment
  • Experience with a variety of virtualization methods and systems
  • Experience working with identity management and single sign on services
  • Experience with Google Workspaces, Slack, Atlassian Suite, Github, and similar applications and suites
  • Intermediate network hardware and software management and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Shell and/or Python)
  • Familiarity with configuration management software like Terraform
