Compensation: $140-170K

About the Role:

Virtru is seeking a Federal Contracts Lead to own and execute all phases of the contracting lifecycle while laying the foundation for a scalable contracts function. This role combines hands-on contract administration with process improvement, initial team leadership, and cross-departmental influence across a growing federal portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, and execute federal contracts, NDAs, teaming agreements, and FAR/DFARS-compliant subcontracts for SaaS and technology offerings.
  • Lead contract review and risk assessment, identifying issues related to IP, indemnification, and termination while ensuring compliance (FAR/DFARS, CMMC, NIST 800-171, etc.).
  • Manage pre- and post-award processes, including RFP/RFQ responses, contract modifications, and deliverables tracking across T&M, FFP, and cost-reimbursable vehicles.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, workflows, and playbooks to streamline operations and ensure audit readiness.
  • Serve as a subject-matter resource on federal regulatory requirements, training internal teams and supporting cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Capture lessons learned, document best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement in contracts operations.
  • Serve as the primary contracts contact internally and externally, partnering with sales, legal, finance, and program teams to support business objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of direct federal contract administration experience, including drafting, negotiation, compliance, and risk management.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract types (fixed-price, T&M, cost reimbursable) and regulatory frameworks (FAR, DFARS, CMMC).
  • Demonstrated experience responding to RFPs/RFQs and managing the full federal procurement lifecycle.
  • Active U.S. TS/SCI Clearance required. 
  • Strong organization, writing, and communication skills.

Desired Attributes:

  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) and/or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM).
  • Active or recent federal security clearance.
  • Proven ability to create or refine contracting processes, documentation, and reporting tools.
  • Experience interpreting cybersecurity and privacy requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-171).
  • Effective cross-functional communicator with a collaborative, accountable approach.
  • Experience in high-growth or start-up environments supporting multiple contract efforts simultaneously.
