Overall Function:

The Child and Family Specialist Lead – Wraparound/IFCCS/CSEC is responsible for providing direct mental health services to children and families as identified in an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and may function as a member of a Child and Family Team (CFT). The position will utilize a flexible, strengths-based
approach in their work, and will provide rehabilitation services (e.g., teaching, modeling, practicing life skills) as needed or as planned.

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is preferred, or a BA/BS plus 4 years’ experience
    working with high-risk youth.
  • Skills engaging and working with parents and youth and working successfully with families from
    diverse ethnic and cultural groups.
  • Crisis management experience.
  • Must be self-directed, efficient, be familiar with time-management skills, and be results oriented.
  • Must function as a productive member of a service team and of child/family teams and maintain
    clear and appropriate boundaries with other members of the team(s).
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to function independently.

Essential Job Duties:

  • 1.Assists in the ongoing development and evaluation of the IHBS (Wraparound, ISFC, and IFCCS) Plans
    of Care and Mental Health Services Plan. This can include strengths chats with specific children as
    assigned, administering assessments and understanding educational placements and experiences of
    children, and providing assistance with DMH paperwork as needed by the CFT or as assigned by
    supervisor.
  • 2. Engages with assigned families, in accordance with individualized child and family plans, providing
    concrete direct services to assist the child and family with their tasks of daily living. Concrete
    services include but are not limited to providing educational support, transportation, parenting
    assistance, home management assistance, recreational activities, and behavior management. Can
    expect to spend 25 – 30 hours per week with children and families as assigned.
  • 3. Participates in Wraparound/CBS training and consultation.
  • 4. Maintains productivity rate of billing DMH services assigned by the supervisor or Program Director.
    The productivity rate will account for at 50 – 75 % of time.
  • 5. Maintains a schedule of Youth Intervention assignments and availability.
  • 6. Provides advocacy and support to individual family members and the family as a whole.
  • 7. Assists in providing crisis management to families and children when plans disrupt, and on-site
    consultation to others involved in plans.
  • 8. May provide therapy services as assigned.
  • 9. Mentors staff on crisis stabilization techniques and provides support as needed.
  • 10. Participates in 24-hour on-call system.
  • 11. Promotes family-centered practice strategies including family decision-making.

Salary: $26.00 per hour
