POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clinical Team Leader is responsible for providing clinical services within Vista Del Mar’s field-based substance use disorder treatment program for youth in educational settings. Working closely with students and their families, the Clinical Team Leader utilizes evidence-based practices to develop individualized treatment plans and deliver Early Intervention and Prevention services. In addition to direct care, the Clinical Team Leader provides leadership and support to the Field-Based SUD Vista RISE treatment team. This role collaborates with school faculty and campus social service teams, facilitating brief clinical case conferences to ensure coordinated and effective care. Aligned with each student’s treatment goals, the Clinical Team Leader maintains knowledge of educational and community service providers to recommend appropriate referrals. This position is also responsible for assigning caseloads, overseeing data collection and analysis, and preparing program outcome reports. The Clinical Team Leader will initiate and plan community outreach activities and will coordinate with internal Vista Del Mar programs as well as external stakeholders to generate referrals and promote service access.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Provide individual counseling within an educational setting and offer leadership to the treatment team.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including individual and family session notes, legal consents, assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Consult and collaborate with campus staff, social services, community partners, and the Vista RISE treatment team to coordinate care for youth.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of substance use disorder (SUD) evidence-based practices and an understanding of life-span development through young adulthood.
  • Coordinate and facilitate case conferences with treatment team members, school faculty, and campus-based service providers.
  • Apply Early Intervention and Prevention approaches, strength-based practices, trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and culturally responsive/LGBTQ-affirming methods when working with youth.
  • Oversee team data collection and analysis and prepare program outcome reports.
  • Serve as an advocate for youth and demonstrate a clear understanding of mandated reporting requirements.
  • Initiate and plan outreach activities on campus and at community events.

WHAT YOU BRING TO VDM

  • Active California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC, in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Experience working with youth and/or in SUD treatment programming.
  • Strong preference for certification as a Certified SUD Counselor.
  • Ability to work independently with computers and learn required software systems

Salary: $86,000.00 - $90,000.00 / annually
