What You'll Do:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical plant, utilities, and equipment that support an egg processing facility. This role ensures that all building systems, utilities, and supporting infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Important areas of operations you’ll work on (but are not limited to):
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, boilers, and refrigeration.
- Maintain interior and exterior facility structures, including lighting, flooring, walls, ceilings, and roofs.
- Conduct regular inspections of the plant to identify and correct potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Support production by ensuring reliable operation of utilities and facility equipment that impact food safety and quality.
- Assist with the installation, modification, and commissioning of new equipment and building systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders
- Respond to facility emergencies (power outages, leaks, refrigeration issues, etc.) in a timely and safe manner.
- Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality assurance teams to support continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 2+ years of facilities or industrial maintenance experience; food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building maintenance systems.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
