Your Role:

Reporting to the VP, Talent & People Partners, this leader will serve as the strategic People Business Partner for our Commercial & Support functions. This role is a critical leader on our People team, providing high-level organizational design and talent strategy for VP-level leaders and Executives, while staying deeply connected to the needs of our fully remote crew. 

The Director, People will partner with our DevEx & Talent Acquisition teams to architect and pull through targeted attraction, learning, development, and engagement initiatives that reflect our commitment to a Growth Mindset and drive progress against our Strategic Goals. Additionally, they will collaborate with our Total Rewards & People Ops team to ensure seamless support around compensation, benefits, and compliance. Beyond strategy, this leader will oversee a People Business Partner (PBP) and be responsible for their growth & development.

A superb active listener, experienced coach who can influence, and creative problem solver, you will drive strategic direction and tactical implementation of key People programs & initiatives. 

What You'll Do:

  • Act as primary People Business Partner to our Next Level Leader (VP & Sr Dir) population, translating business objectives into high-impact talent plans.
  • Lead headcount planning and succession strategies to stay ahead of rapid growth, ensuring the "right people are in the right seats" as the org evolves.
  • Evaluate and iterate on team structures and operating models to ensure effective teaming, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Move beyond annual reviews toward a culture of continuous feedback. Coach leaders on managing performance with care, consistency, and empathy.
  • Identify skill gaps within both the leadership group and the broader crew; partner with our DevEx team to design or source development programs that align with future business needs.
  • Ensure the company’s approach to crew care is felt by every remote employee, from onboarding through the entire lifecycle.
  • Use engagement surveys and people analytics to identify trends and proactively address "hot spots" before they impact retention
  • Develop strong relationships with business leaders and becomes a trusted advisor and influencer that can work with all levels of crew 
  • Execute against strategic initiatives identified in collaboration with the business. 
  • Act as a consultant to influence the business, deliver constructive advice, diagnose and resolve problems and positively influence change across the organization. 
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws pertaining to personnel matters. 
  • In partnership with senior leadership and our legal team, lead compliance with governmental and labor legal requirements including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and workers compensation. 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a CPG 
  • Demonstrated success implementing efficient, creative, user-friendly HR programs
  • Experience managing people and advising leaders in a remote environment
  • Ability to work in a fluid, fast paced environment, while prioritizing crew care & empathy
  • High degree of business acumen and analytical capability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Bias for action with experience leveraging data insights to drive decision making
  • Intermediate in all Microsoft platforms; comfort in navigating HRIS and other People management systems
  • Ability to travel 20-25% for meetings, offsites, onboarding and/or development opportunities
