The Role
VML is seeking a skilled and collaborative Editor to join our post-production department. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about storytelling through video and thrives in a fast-paced, creatively driven environment.
As an Editor, you'll be responsible for cutting a wide range of content - from TV and social commercials to award-winning case studies. You'll work closely with our creative, production, and account teams to bring ideas to life in a way that's polished, engaging, and on-brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit a variety of content including:
- Broadcast and digital commercials
- Case studies and sizzle reels
- Internal presentations and pitches
- Collaborate with creative teams, producers, sound studios, and motion designers to elevate the narrative and visual style
- Deliver a wide range of digital formats, precisely spec’d to platform and media requirements
- Manage schedule to balance multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Work within brand guidelines and campaign parameters to ensure consistency
- Implement feedback quickly and efficiently while maintaining creative integrity
- Organize and manage media files, timelines, and project assets with precision
- Stay up to date with the latest editing trends, techniques, ai, and tools
Qualifications
- 3+ years of editing experience, preferably in an advertising or agency environment
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)
- Solid understanding of pacing, storytelling, and music selection
- Experience working with branded content and understanding of various deliverables (broadcast, digital, social, etc.)
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects at different stages of post-production
- Collaborative mindset and ability to take direction and feedback constructively
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality and deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience editing award submissions (e.g., Cannes Lions, Effie’s, etc.)
- Knowledge of colour grading and sound mixing basics
- Motion graphics or animation experience
- A great music sensibility
- French language skills are an asset, but not a necessity
