We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Art Director/Designer looking to do the best work of their career and join our growing team. They will work on our Ford account as part of a dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative vision, exceptional skill in their field, and the ability to produce world-class work
About the role
Are you the person we're looking for? We're looking for a Art Director/Designer with excellent visual storytelling abilities, thinking, and conceptualization skills to blend lifestyle and product into entertaining and authentic content. You have an excellent understanding of the French-Canadian market and culture, and experience creating original content in French. You also have some experience adapting creative content from English to French, taking into account Quebec expressions, references, and idioms. You have a unique perspective and enjoy inviting others to see things differently. You thrive in a transparent and collaborative team, in an environment where all ideas are shared, listened to, and considered. You enjoy working as part of a team, are hungry to create powerful concepts and learn from them to build impactful content. You have experience in TV, digital video, social and web and are fully versed in Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Figma and Keynote. Our ideal candidate is looking to gain experience in a challenging and ever-evolving field that is the automotive advertising. Requirements
- Excellent bilingualism (English and French) and excellent command of French, its grammar, and spelling.
- Passion for creative ideas and the ability to implement them from conception to final production.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry a definite asset.
- Knowledge of current trends in marketing and advertising.
- To concepts and collaborate with creative teams, including other art directors, copywriters and designers
- To create visually stunning art including layout, typography and photography
- To maintain our commitment to changing consumer behaviour through disruptive ideas at all contact points.
- To ensure creative concepts and tactics are on the brand and strategically sound
- To ensure quality of deliverables and oversee work throughout the production process
- Ensure creative files are prepped properly for production (digital, print and video)
- Work with the Creative Director in all areas of creative development
- Present work to clients with solid rationale and support
- Build presentation decks and visual mock-ups
- Participate in agency-client and new business activity as required
Experience
- 1 – 3 years of art direction/design experience in a creative agency or similar environment
- Experience working on retail, in-store or shopper marketing (automotive considered an asset)
- A College/university diploma in art direction, design or advertising
- A demonstrated ability to expand thinking to integrated channels
- Experience working on large brands
- Excellent verbal and written French/English communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign) Keynote, MS Office (Word & PowerPoint)
- Advanced knowledge of typography, layout and colour theory
- Strong conceptual and design skills – brand guidelines, logos, poster design and content storytelling
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- An online portfolio showcasing examples of your best work and thinking
