GCP Infrastructure Architect needed to join our team here at VML Enterprise Solutions.
The opportunity:
Join us at the forefront of digital transformation as a GCP Infrastructure Architect, where you'll have the chance to architect and optimize solutions for some of the world's most recognized brands. The ideal candidate will have extensive GCP Infrastructure experience, working within Commerce and Retail.
This is a role with requirements to travel to Herzogenaurach, Germany
What you’ll get to do:
- Optimising existing GCP and GraphQL infrastructure estate from a cost and resource-usage perspective
- Optimising containerisation deployment and scaling strategies, incl. version control and resource-usage optimisation
- Consulting on said optimisation for senior client stakeholders
- Ongoing design and deployment of core GCP and GraphQL Infrastructure services, including container-based infrastructures
- Building multi-layered caching strategies to improve overall system performance
- Providing strategies for new environments to support Performance testing
- Implementation of strategies to improve cost allocation/tagging
- Optimisation of existing CI/CD pipelines, including shift-left testing and increased automation in QA and infrastructure provisioning
- Owning the view of e2e infrastructure and observability in the context of configuration management, improving performance, and reducing costs
What you should have:
Understanding and communicating the strengths and weaknesses, from experience and education, of:
- Infrastructure and Configuration as Code
- Safe Deployment strategies and CI/CD
- GCP Cloud-based and Cloud-native system design
- Observability
- Developer Experience
- Cost and performance optimised infrastructure design
- DevOps and SRE
You will also need experience in:
- Delivering Cloud Infrastructure solutions as part of an experienced cross-disciplinary team with hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business applications at scale
- Commerce and retail experience
- Extensive experience with GCP Cloud Infrastructure
- Acting as a technical authority with Customer facing skills to engage and steer discussions on best practice and risk mitigation
- Familiarity with IaC languages – Terraform, Terragrunt, Cloud DSL for IaC
- Hands-on with GCP – incl. Cloud Run, GKE, Endpoints, Loadbalancers, Functions, Storage, Firestore, Pub/Sub
- Practical DevOps experience with Pipelines, Repos and Artifacts
- Experience with Kubernetes, and familiarity with differing Cloud implementations
- Hands-on with Terraform – familiarity with Terragrunt, Terraform
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible in production environments
- Management of Automation Tooling – incl. GitHub Actions and Environments, Jenkins, CircleCI
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
- Familiarity with Observability tooling (e.g. NewRelic, Coralogix, DataDog) incl. setup and problem resolution

- Salary depending on presented skills: 26 880 - 36 960 PLN monthly (B2B contract)
