Commerce Performance Consultant is needed to join our Digital Commerce team.
The opportunity:
We seek an experienced Commerce Performance Consultant with deep expertise in digital commerce, marketplace trading, and portfolio planning. This role offers the opportunity to drive commercial success through data-driven strategies and cross-functional leadership. You will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic initiatives across B2C channels, optimising trading performance, and delivering measurable business outcomes for our clients.
What you’ll be doing:
Strategic Planning, Revenue Growth Management & Category Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies
- Lead portfolio optimisation and range architecture initiatives
- Lead end-to-end PPA strategy development to optimise portfolio pricing architecture across channels
- Design and implement tiered pricing structures that maximise market coverage and profit potential
- Develop market-specific PPA frameworks that align with both commercial objectives and shopper needs
- Create long-term category visions and innovation planning
- Identify white space opportunities and market expansion potential
- Drive global-to-local category adaptation
- Build ‘Right to Win’ wireframes across global channels and design global to local workflows.
Commercial Strategy & Trading:
- Manage P&L and develop financial models
- Design and execute pricing and promotional strategies
- Lead market share analysis and growth forecasting & planning
- Optimise revenue and margin growth across channels
- Seasonal planning
- Develop and manage trade terms
Digital Commerce Leadership:
- Drive e-commerce platform and marketplace strategy
- Optimize digital shelf presence and content syndication
- Develop D2C channel strategies
- Enhance online visibility and searchability
- Manage promotional calendar planning
Data & Analytics:
- Lead category performance analysis
- Generate consumer behaviour insights
- Conduct market trend and competitive analysis
- Measure ROI and develop predictive analytics
- Create data-driven recommendations
What we want from you:
- Extensive experience in global digital commerce with e-category management
- Experience with Digital retailers (e.g. Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and outside the UK), Quick Commerce providers (e.g. Deliveroo) and pureplay providers in terms of eCategory planning and assessing shopper behaviour.
- Experience in leading complex projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.
- Ability to identify market opportunities and convert them into profitable business ventures.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with key clients/partners
- Proven track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and pitches to senior stakeholders and potential client
- Ability to represent the company at industry events and conferences
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions and propositions that differentiate from competitors
- Demonstrated success in P&L management and commercial planning
- Deep understanding of digital commerce ecosystems
- Proven expertise in category strategy development and execution
- Advanced data analysis skills (insights not implementation)
- Strong strategic storytelling ability
- Strong negotiation experience for joint Business Planning (JBP) negotiations with marketplaces and retailers (or indirect - techniques to advise others to get better results)
- Experience with e-commerce analytics and market research platforms
- Deep understanding of consumer behaviour and shopper insights
- Experience in digital marketing integration and content strategy
- Proven track record in business development and innovation
- Strong background in portfolio planning and marketplace optimisation (essential: Amazon, desirable: Walmart, TMALL, Mercado Libre)
- Strong capabilities in trade promotion management systems

- Experience within a commerce agency
- Proficiency in PIM/PXM systems and digital asset management (How to manage content with them, not how to build them)
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and trade regulations
- Expertise in global implementation and risk management
- Expertise in category management software
