THE ROLE: SALES ANALYSIS INTERN (Costco)
The Costco Sales Analysis Intern will support the Club Sales team by analyzing sales performance, promotions, and key growth drivers across Costco. This role is ideal for a college student interested in business analytics, sales, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) and looking to gain handson experience working with real retail data.
You’ll partner with teams across Sales, Demand Planning, and Marketing to turn data into insights that help guide business decisions. The internship concludes with a final presentation of key findings and recommendations to the Costco Sales team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and publish weekly Costco POS reports for OLLY and SPV brands
- Analyze sales trends, growth drivers, and performance by SKU
- Conduct pre and post promotion analysis for Costco tactics such as end caps, demos, fence placements, and marketing programs
- Help improve future sales forecasting assumptions using historical data and trends
- Create standardized reporting tools for rate of sale, distribution changes, and competitive benchmarking
- Summarize insights and present recommendations at the end of the internship
SKILLS + CAPABILITIES
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (Business, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field)
- Strong interest in data, retail, or sales analytics
- Comfortable working with Excel and large data sets
- Clear communicator who can turn data into simple, actionable insights
- Organized, detail oriented, and eager to learn
