Why this role matters:

The Marketing Operations team is responsible for delivering marketing campaigns across Vonage and creating key interlocks with the Sales organization to ensure there are efficient, rules-based automated lead routing processes in place for the company to deliver on pipeline and revenue targets. We lead campaign execution and salesforce administration responsibilities to ensure marketing initiatives are successfully executed, while working with Marketing, Sales, and Product Stakeholders to understand the business needs and goals to drive growth. We own Salesforce development projects and run-the-business tasks to ensure Martech systems integrate and complement Sales Operations, and liaise with IT & Engineering staff to drive meaningful growth to the company through multi-department transformational projects. We’re seeking a candidate that has a ‘can-do’ attitude, a problem solver and a keen eye to detail as well as technical proficiency to join our expanding Marketing Operations team. This role will include leading a team of marketing operations resources working within the marketing technology stack on a daily basis to support the needs of the business, creating and driving adherence to internal processes, create and lead cross functional project plans, and effectively prioritize projects to drive growth while balancing cost and resource restraints.

What you will do:

Overview

  • As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of marketing processes and technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness in marketing efforts. This role involves managing marketing automation systems, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive and high-performing marketing activities. You will own our Salesforce CRM and all related data and campaign processes. You will lead a team responsible for optimizing marketing (and sales) processes, implementing scalable systems, and driving data-driven decision-making to maximize revenue generation across the organization. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of marketing operations, marketing automation, and customer lifecycle management across a wide variety of product industries, market segments, and buying personas.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Primary administrator and marketing owner for Salesforce CRM systems and related data, lead management, and marketing campaign attribution processes 
  • Own Lead Management including analytics, attribution, scoring & enrichment, qualification, and dynamic routing across multiple regions, verticals, and segments 
  • Develop and implement marketing operations strategies aligned with the overall marketing and business objectives.
  • Thought leadership in leveraging marketing automation tools, data/insights in creating marketing campaigns and initiatives to achieve business objectives. 
  • Provide strategic oversight of account based marketing strategies within a cross functional team

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing operations team.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing operations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for marketing processes.
  • Develop end to end processes with Sales Operations 

Data and Analytics

  • Oversee marketing analytics centered within our CRM (Salesforce) collaborating with Business Intelligence teams to refine reporting, providing insights and recommendations across the customer journey to improve marketing performance.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and reporting teams to track and report on the entire marketing funnel including volume, velocity, conversion stage-to-stage, and average value; make sure funnel measures can be analyzed by key dimensions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all marketing systems and platforms.
  • Track key performance indicators and data to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and attribution of marketing efforts (campaigns).

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, product, demand generation, field marketing, partner marketing, engineering, and business intelligence teams to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between marketing and IT to manage technology needs and projects.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure marketing activities comply with relevant industry and government regulators and internal policies and controls.
  • Manage data privacy and security in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

What you will bring:

Required

  • 8+ years experience in marketing operations or related field with at least 5+ years in a leadership role that includes direct reports; exemplifies strong leadership and team management
  • 3+ years Salesforce administration experience
  • Ability to think strategically, and communicate effectively to delegate tactically
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to change functional languages between marketing, sales, P&E and development teams to ensure business requirements are translated and executed accurately into technical processes
  • Proven experience successfully launching high visibility CRM projects
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, perform in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of detail and accuracy. 
  • Possess a deep understanding of marketing technologies, including CRM, analytics, and automation tools & a demonstrable track record of using technology to deliver strong business outcomes.
  • Account Based Marketing (ABM) experience, including the intersection of ABM strategy & marketing technology 

Desirable

  • Proven track record of successfully driving business improvement within Global Marketing organizations in SaaS, Telecommunications, CPaaS or similar industries.
  • Experience working in a global business environment, understanding cultural nuances, and adapting strategies accordingly. Includes managing remote team members around the world.
  • Experience creating automated workflows to streamline manual processes
