Sr. Developer Advocate (Video Content Creator)

United States - Remote

Join Vonage and help us innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide!

Why this role matters:

Vonage is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate with a passion for creating long-form video content to enhance our presence on the Vonage Developer YouTube channel. In this role, you will leverage technical expertise and creative storytelling to craft impactful video content that inspires developers, showcases innovative API use cases, and fosters a thriving global audience around Vonage’s cloud communications platform. If you imagine yourself creating YouTube content daily, blending tech with creativity, this role is made for you.

Please note that we are not seeking Videographers, Video Producers, or Directors; this role focuses on Developer Advocacy combined with video content creation.

As a video-focused Developer Advocate, you’ll be responsible for planning, creating, and delivering high-quality video content that brings Vonage’s developer experience to life. Your videos will showcase how our APIs empower developers to build scalable, real-time communication solutions while helping to grow Vonage’s voice within the developer community. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, partners, and the community to ensure content reflects both developer needs and strategic goals.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Video Content Creation: Create educational and engaging long-form videos for the Vonage Developer YouTube channel, highlighting API integrations, solutions, and developer success stories.
  • End-to-End Creation: Drive the full cycle of video content—from ideation, scripting, and recording to editing and publishing.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Product, Developer Relations, and Marketing teams to create content that aligns with business goals while staying relatable to developers.
  • Community Engagement: Amplify community events, partnerships, and sponsorships through video content that emphasizes the impact of APIs.
  • Content Strategy: Contribute to the YouTube content roadmap and long-form video strategy, ensuring content resonates with developer audiences globally.
  • Feedback Integration: Use developer community insights to refine and improve video content for maximum engagement and educational value.

Tools Used:

  • Video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro or similar
  • Command line: Bash, PowerShell, or similar environments
  • Programming languages: JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#
  • Code sharing platforms: GitHub or GitLab
  • Community platforms: Slack, Discord, or similar

What you’ll bring:

Required:

  • Proven experience creating impactful video content (preferably for a developer or technical audience). Please include a portfolio or video samples with your application.
  • Strong knowledge of video editing and creation workflows (Adobe Premiere Pro experience preferred).
  • Ability to handle the complete YouTube workflow—planning, scripting, creation, editing, and publishing.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#).
  • Familiarity with APIs and hands-on experience with RESTful APIs.

What we consider a plus:

  • Prior Experience as a Developer Advocate is preferred
  • Ability to help build animations that Vonage can reuse in other content.
  • Experience navigating community engagement platforms (e.g., Slack)

We are also open to considering fully remote candidates located within the United States.

Sponsorship is not available. Legal authorization to work in the USA is required. We are unable to sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. #LI-HB

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
