Why this role matters:

The Enterprise Architect role, reporting directly to the CIO, is responsible for developing and driving technology vision, strategy, and execution of the enterprise IT architecture (systems, processes, workflow) and ensuring a modern technology stack that delivers highly available, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure and business applications.

Your Key Responsibilities:

In this unique and highly strategic role, the person will develop a strategic roadmap and ensure the company's IT architecture aligns well with the business’ organizational structure and processes, and harmonizes with the architecture and technology stack of Vonage’s parent company Ericsson.  To be successful, they will work very closely with all the key leaders in the business, product & engineering (including product architecture), and shared services (who are peers with the CIO reporting to the CFO). They will also work with IT, Security and Architecture leaders for different business areas in Ericsson. 

This person is expected to provide hands-on architecture leadership, guidance, and facilitate efficient and strategic decision making towards objectives listed above. It is expected and critical that the candidate be a close collaborator and trusted advisor to our IT leaders and distinguished engineers. This person will need to be a thought-leader, bringing real-world business sense, strategic vision and technology transformation experience to the CIO organization. This person will need to drive collaboration across functions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of SaaS platforms, modern software and cloud technologies, and proven industry experience at scale. This person is expected to have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and work effectively with all of the stakeholders listed above. 

What you’ll bring:

Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in industry, with a background in software engineering, cloud & SaaS with recent experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience in architecting solutions that comply with stringent regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53 etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to influence, guide and facilitate key stakeholders in decision making
  • Strong analytical DNA, with experience in evaluating diverse technical approaches, and making the optimal choices to meet and exceed expected business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated industry leadership (in building and scaling) innovative solutions, including leading technology transformations at scale.

What we consider a plus:

  • Experience working in an organisation that has gone through significant growth and/or has been part of mergers or acquisitions.
  • Passion & experience for driving and maintaining high standards across global technology teams.
  • Demonstrated impact & leadership through a career progression of increasingly challenging and strategic technology and architectural leadership roles.
  • M.S. or higher in Software Engineering or related fields
  • Further leadership / business / strategy training (e.g. EMBA) is not required but is a plus

Where you will work:

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based out of our Holmdel office, with the flexibility to work remotely. We are also open to considering fully remote candidates located within the United States, specifically in the Eastern time zone.
